Estes | New rumors!!!

East overtime went down to 52 hours, did the west stay the same? Already got guys complaining that their hours will be cut because they won't allow them to get OT.
TM @ 172 told me OT was 52 hours. One of our guys heard from Toledo driver their OT was 45. Is this true?

092 drivers all talk smack to start s#$!. Just the same for 068 rumorville, all those guys huddle up every day/night and come up with some B.S. to spread.

Now we know why at 017 that they were hell bent on hiring enough people to get everyone between 45 to 50 hrs. I knew I smelled bullsh@t.

Hi guys, I am a Holland driver, I have been hearing rumors that several of the terminals that Estes bought from Holland and then leased back to them about ten years ago are going to be taken back by Estes in the spring. Rock Island is the main one I have been hearing but have also heard rumors about Milwaukee and Nashville, I was wondering if you guys are hearing anything from your end? What I hear is Holland is looking to save money by sharing the YRC terminals in those locations?

I dont know anything at all but if the Holland terminals are bigger/nicer than what Estes is currently in and Estes needs more space then I would count on it being a good chance of Estes booting Holland out when their leases are up. Estes has outgrown many of their terminals and needs more space.

Estes wont share they dont want the drivers near.union drivers they dont even let us get near our own staggard half hour start times 24 hours a day

I was at the detroit terminal saturday nite it was kinda jammed up if detroit ever started booming that terminal would be ruff im from 028 we went from gridlocked to workable what a stress relief

I don’t think they’d take Nashville considering they’re adding on to a 100ish door terminal they already have in Smyrna off of 24. I’m sure they’ve outgrown Milwaukee and RI though.
I don't think they have a choice, my understanding which could be wrong is that it is a ten year lease ending in March or April and YRC is not renewing the lease so Estes can lease it to someone else or use it themselves but if YRC does not want to renew lease you can't make them do it.

Ah interesting. Where in the world would they go? Those are all large operations with a lot of equipment, that all won’t just fit in any dumpy old place?

They have YRC terminals in all of those cities that are sitting there half or more empty that are already owned by the company. They already do this in many cities such as Cincinnati. In the case of Rock Island and Milwaukee the terminals are actually very close to each other, I don't know about Nashville.

Ah yes I remember when they moved Cincinnati from the bottom of the hill up to where they are now with Yrc a few years ago. That was the beginning to a long slippery slope I could tell. Isn’t Owatanna also shared with Yrc if I remember right ? I know Spartanburg and Chattanooga have been for a long time.

They just moved New Penn out of their Newburgh terminal into the YRC Maybrook NY terminal to cut lease expenses. We will be moving into sometime in 2019.
