i used that term to get your attention. remember during the movie smokey and the bandit, an attention getter. putting your retirement money into the csp today tomorrow or next week is a bad idea. your paying for someone else to be on retirement you will not get to see any of that money if the plan goes kaput. the pbgc is insolvent too so dont hold your breath for a rescue either.

First, there are better ways of getting attention than taking pokes at minorities. Secondly, I’ll gladly support the retirement of those who came before me with my pension contributions, just as those who came before them have supported their predecessors. I would not be here today if it wasn’t for those who proceeded me. My only hope is that we can stand strong, united for a “fair” contract, not one over-the-top, and certainly not one that is subpar either. We sacrificed greatly so this company could survive the recession that struck at the most inoppurtune time of their company acquisitions. We survived, we are strong again, and it’s time to reciprocate the sacrifices we made to make all this happen. It’s the company’s own view, that we would not be here today without the sacrifices the Teamsters made over the last decade. The company is now in the black, but it’s Teamsters are still seeing red, time for a morality bump. Time for us to make a stand and demand what’s rightfully ours through the sacrifices we’ve made. $.02

I believe you brother, but the gray hairs by me are just content getting their 12_ 13 hours a day and that's all they care about
Yeah I know, some have a backbone & remember how we got here & some don’t
Sad we’ve gotten to this point
All we can do is vote with our heart and talk to others and hope for the best

Agreed

Did you check off "male" on your company application or did you check off "undetermined"? It's a two "man" meeting remember.
Yep let's get our politically correct language incorporated in everything Male female non-binary lgbtqrstuvwxyz too.. all done by design to get absolutely nothing done and divide! Great way to conquer and control! Nothing changes, and never will... I think they need a "whatever" box to! LOL

When the second MOU came out, we voted that one down also at 179 Joliet IL 5 years ago. I firmly believed then they wouldn't shut the doors. The company was leveraged way to much for the investment banksters not get more of their money out of YRC. Now, not so sure.
We have an OLD workforce. Most at our barn are older than 50, many over 55. Who's taking our places when we leave? They sure aren't hiring anyone at 318. Who's going to take the torch when we're gone? Yellow took 3 companies, and ruined all of them with debt, and mismanagement.(also Preston, and Jevic) At Roadway, we drove crap equipment, but at least management had somewhat of a direction, and for the most part, debt free.
(We won't talk about the multi Billion RPS Package blunder. Thanks Joe Clapp for the lack of vision.)
I took part in the 94 strike. Approx. 100,000 teamsters were in that one. There were 22 companies involved. The union under Hoffa's leadership has weakened the freight division with multiple deals at various companies, instead of consolidating the numbers for greater impact. Strength is always in numbers. This makes it easier on the international to bring sub-standard contracts for less members to vote. When Yellow, and Roadway struck during that period, there were 50,000 members between those 2 companies alone, plus another 30,000 at CF, ABF, and Carolina. Lasted around a month for most of us. Carolina cut a deal saying they'd take whatever was agreed on to keep running. Think hard Brothers & sisters before you all get puffy chested wanting a strike. Make an informed decision, instead of an emotional one. This company still holds lots of debt. It hasn't been good that management has received increases, and bonuses while we're doing the work for the leftover scraps. Let's see what the offer is, and go from there.
Good luck to all.

I got the kid his job.He showed me his second pay stub, it was over $1700.00. I work early mornings and he comes in late.I see him seldom but
he has no reason to lie about it.His second check x52 does add up to more than 80 grand so I have no reason to doubt him.
Doesn't YRC start new hires at top rate now?

Depending on location/runs & ability to work or clear the board that’s true however the variance between what we make and what we should make if we stick together are 2 different animals
If we were where we should be our pay would be $3-400 more per week

O and also basing it off 1 check. Even if he was road he would be getting that type of miles every week.Quit inflating numbers. :::shit::: I run 3200 miles a week bid but I didn't make 90,000
Depends on what you’re making
3220 x top scale x 52 weeks is 92,724
At what we should make, appropriately
110,510

I've often wondered how one would feel after driving 3200 miles in a week?
Theres a bid driver out of 324 in his seventies runs 636 mile run to 347 3 trips a week! 3816 Miles a week has to be longest run in the system? Guys is collecting his pension and social security plus the run.
