Yellow | $16 A Day

Before the merger I was one of those they told to slow down. I was always a hard worker and did more than I should. Now that I see my pension gone I see what a fool I was. You know the saying get me once shame on you, get me twice shame on me.
I don’t want to see the banks or CEO’s get nothing else, I have a CDL and a clean driving record and a boatload of experience.
We all know how this story ends now shutter down.
Agree 100% My Brother
Shut it Down, you have a cdl and no tickets
The world is your oyster
Let's stick it to YRC and all of the dumb yes voters that have the nerve that want to stay at such a miserable place, Let's put em in unemployment
Especially the ladies in the office and dock only hands, but most importantly the ones with disabilities and the ones that may face age discrimination
Fraternally Brother
Agree with you
No need for further dialogue
We'll never convince those stupid yes voters to shut the company down so PEACE!!!!!!

Ernie should of got it right on the pension and not the hourly rate. There’s a lot of us 25 to 35 year people who got forgotten now Yrc will close. Most have forgotten more than any noob will ever know about freight. I’m sure your contract will pass but it’s the beginning of the end for Yrc.

The beginning of the “end” occurred in 2003.

Total Compensation Difference Between YRC companies and ABF Freight is $18,284.24 a year or about 20% higher at ABF Freight. This could vary across the country depending on their current wages This is from a board post

I would like to say something from my very inside of my heart and it is been with me since they announced the merged of Yellow and Roadway. When the banks were collapsing at the crashed of 2008, Zollars' team saw the opportunity of getting rid of all the Teamsters all at once by merging the two companies. It was clear that they have a plan to start on a clean, brand new company without the union involved, with enough assets and with the banks on the hook with the massive debt and recession in full progress, it would have been a natural process; bankruptcy, discharged and a ready team to assemble a new brand LTL company just in time for the new economy.
Imagine 65000 Teamsters member out of the job, union dues multiplied by 50 bucks a month by 12 months … Almost 40 millions a year gone forever, then the Trust Fund Welfare, pension money...
But then, here is the union. Who call who first?
Did the company ask for help? No!
The company told the Union they are shutting down soon, in a matter of months...
That's when our calamity started.
The Union proposed a plan and that's what we have now.
The company dictates and union obeys. We are screwed not by the company but our own called Teamsters Union representatives.
It's not a theory.

I was on the Overnite picket line( volunteered) and spent a week on a rolling picket with a friend. We followed random drivers that crossed the line , all day long and harassed them at every stop with strike signs in hand.More than 70% of them crossed. Then UPS bought them and they had a union handed to them.
They don’t compare to the teamsters of past but they still have the leverage of a company that makes billions of dollars.
Our company doesn’t,it is what it is but I truly believe at Holland anyway that we have the best LTL JOBS in the industry.
A no vote is an authorized strike vote.If you don’t like it here how well do you think you are going to like it at the bottom of a non union line?

Your paying for insurance when you make $5-7 an hour less than the competition
Consider free healthcare a HUGE BENEFIT!!!! As far as non-Union members paying for healthcare, We do have some contributions from YRCW but we pay a hefty price. It came to $22,567.68 for a family of 4. $5000 is what YRCW pays, I believe but don’t quote me. I also put $150 a check into his HSA to cover the $4600 deductible we have to pay out of pocket. I wouldn’t know if those competition companies are or are not offering healthcare, That $5-7 per hour kinda doesn’t add up as a trade off for those kind of expenses though.
