Nemf Stinks

they are doing work that the nemf guys never did. theres a big diff.just because they could do it doesnt mean its theirs to do.

Don't wanna argue the point, but you couldn't be more wrong.

Eastern and Carrier drivers pull NEMF loads off of NEMF docks loaded by NEMF dock workers going to NEMF terminals every night!

I sit by, smile and wave, then give them directions on how to get there.........

I understand business is slow that is not what this is about. I am guessing you guys i the west never had to watch the videos with Shevell in them saying we didn't make as much money last year as he would like. So this year if we have to cut jobs so he can make more well then we will. All the while he is sitting in his leather chair with a $7000 watch on complaining about money. I also suppose you've never seen the lovely posters of George W Bush wearing a NEMF jean jacket.

'then leaves his Bentley parked in front of the ELZ terminal to rub in his hardship!!!!

what does gbush have to do with anything so the man is a republican. maybe i can make it easy for you. you have money in a 401 k/ its your money.... do you expect it to grow? of course you do. shevell shelled out his own cash for the people to have a decent living. save your money become a millionaire and you can do this too.

This is because NEMF workers are represented by the Machinists union and not the Teamsters. This would never be allowed under the NMFA

This is a perfect example of why UPSF workers should stay as far away as possible from the APWA.

Thats a FACT!!!!:1036316054:

i am trying to decide who to work for. i have a choice between A.Duie Pyle or NEMF. does anyone have thoughts on this, i would really apprieciate any help.

I would go to Duie Pyle for a couple of reasons
Its a better company
It appears to have a better future
I think that the pay & working conditions are better
I peddle with drivers from both companys & the Duie Pyle drivers seem to be a lot happier that the NEMF drivers.
I hear Roadway in East Brunswick & ABF in Avenel are hiring.

thanks. ABF hasnt gotten back to me yet and I think pyle will offer me the job before the end of the week. i will look into Roadway. thanks

i like the way 2631 says go to a duie pile because its a better company. its better because.......................... NEMF has a new president with a very successful background with plans on growing the company....... duie pile has a name like DUIE PILE.STARTING PAY BENEFITS,TREATMENT,EQUIPMENT,START TIME,POTENTIAL, A MAJORITY OF THE DRIVERS IN THE INDUSTRY CHANGE JOBS EVERY 2 OR 3 YRS

rooundguy asked for anyones thoughts on which company to go to. I was just giving my opinion on where I would go if I had to choose between the 2 jobs.

My choice was based on many conversations with drivers from both jobs.....Conversations with customers that have used both companys.... The obvious appearence of the equipment on the street..... And most of the posts on this forum

I know people that I worked with at Red Star that now work for ADP & NEMF in management & labor. And I can honestly say that the people that went to Pyle like their jobs much more than the people that went to NEMF & Carrier

grovedog- where did you get this information on changing jobs? I doubt that a majority of drivers in the industry change jobs every 2 or 3 yrs. At least not in LTL....Are you are talking about entry level long haul jobs like JB HUNT etc?

I stand by my choice. I would go to Duie Pyle.

Go DUIE

As a 8 year vet. of NEMF PIT, I can honestly say that I would look for a job anywhere in the LTL but here.

Morale has never been lower and management has never treated us more poorly than they do now. Turnover is at an all time high.

But, be cautious of which division of PYLE that you sign on with. They are currently hiring for positions involving assigned sleeper trucks, for a "week out" LTL position. I know because I have been looking at other companies as well.

GROVEDOG, is one of NEMF's new, non-union emplyee's from Chicago. I don't think he has worked for this company long enough to make an informed decision. He also seems so intent on sucking up to management that you need to take everything he posts with a grain of salt.

Good luck finding a good job, they are hard to come by!!!!!!

Pyle Transport is their truckload division and yes they do stay out for the week at a time, but they get paid very well. They also do help in the line haul operation on the LTL side.

I worked for cf for a few months before they went under. This comapny almost feels the same exact way over the last few months. claims are at an all time high and true revenue is at an all time low!!!!!!

Hiring at Carrier

A sign at Carrier on Talmadge Rd. in Edison N.J. = Carrier is hiring CDL Class A drivers starting rate $18 per hour.

Sign outside of South Plainfield yard at NEMF says hiring Class A, immediate start. if i go to NEMF how long until i am laid off or working the dock. i am trying to decide between NEMF or Pyle. thanx

Pyle has a no layoff policy, but this time of year the layoffs at other carriers are less and less. Business is picking up all over.

But Pyle really takes good care of their employees.

I just had coffee with a couple of NEMF drivers & they told me the reason for the immediate driver openings is because the men they laid off quit & now they need them.

The new president has a no overtime policy causing missed pickups & deliverys.

I heard that one of their salesmen quit & took some of his customers with him to New Penn

S. Plainfield NJ Terminal

not true. the city drivers at my terminal get 10hrs plus every day.

I can only go by what the 2 NEMF drivers sitting in the coffee shop 4 blocks from their terminal told me.... They were on their way in & had stopped to take their 1/2 hr lunch because they didn't have time to eat during the day.

They told me that a couple of the men were quitting because they could not live on 40 hrs. a week.
