I've been a Con-Way employee for 15 years, and in this time I've heard the same drivers complain about how terrible the company is. If it's that terrible, why stay?? Why would you stay with a company you're so unhappy with. You come to work with a bad attitude and spread your cancer to the newer employees that are just trying to make a living. You come to work thinking that you've "Paid your dues" and ask..."What can the company do for me today?" All the time you never stop to realize that it's YOUR attitude that makes the company a less desireable place to work. There are a lot of drivers that actually LIKE working here. If the company made half of the changes that I've seen on this board, we would have been out of business long ago.

We work hard and get a pretty decent wage for our efforts. For the most part, local management is fair. We drive decent equipment, work in clean facilities and get a decent ICP at the end of the year. I've been in this industry for over 25 years and , before I started working here, I never stayed at one place for more than a year's time. I do my job because thats what it is.......a JOB. I EXPECT to work hard for my $$. No place is perfect, you're never going to find a job that caters to your every whim. Maybe I just needed to vent, but I'm tired of hearing all the bashing. The bottom line is, if you don't like your job or the company you work for, LEAVE........trust me, we'll all be better off without you!

Why am I not surprised?? When was the last time you had anything possitive to say about the company on this board? I hope none of the new guys have to spend much time with you.

Is anything that I have posted on this board false in any way shape or form. I try to help the new guy's. What is so negative about my posts? Is the truth a bad thing. It's not the drivers that run the new hires out of here, Its the way management treats them and other place's offering more money. next. Why is it the new poster play the company line? Are they driver or something else?

WOW, 15 years, and you only lost ground in keeping up with the increase in the cost of living the last 12 years. Pay check not buying what it once did huh?:hide:

Lets be nice. We can work with him. All he has to do is ask. I think we can come up with a few numbers.

You bring up some good points. However, it's not as easy for certain people to just get up and leave, they have roots with Con-way and starting over would or could be devasting for certain people.

You would be surprised to know that some of the bashing that comes from certain members here are actually the hardest workers at Con-way and like working there.

I'm not getting into any debates, but you need to walk a mile in their shoes and see WHY the bashing surfaces in here.
Certain local management, will not do a damn thing. It's usually swept under the carpet or put at the bottom of the "To Do" list. These complaints are 100% valid.

I'm almost postive that you have seen the same type complaints you read here at your barn. Do you do anything locally about it?

It was only a matter of time before another low post count member said the same thing you just said. Believe me, I was exactly like you. It's much much deeper than that. They have their own Core Values.

Forum members? What's the definition of a lunch room hero?

I'm aware of the numbers. The question is, if it's so bad, why are you still at Con-Way???
I never said it was bad. You need to go and read some of my passed posts. All I do is put information on the street. What you are asking has already been answered in past posts. Since you say you know the numbers and still defend the action of our corporate officers I am starting to think you may not be a driver.

It is a management trick to keep asking the same question and answer it the same way. It comes right out of the hand book. They try to beat you down and then they hit you.
