If they can claim agricultural involvement then they don't have to pay overtime. Same crap my company pulls. Although I get a decent deal because I get paid salary at 60 hours a week and don't usually work more than 53-55.

THEY ARE NOT INVOLVED WITH AGRI-INVOLV...........WHY ARE ALOT OF FREIGHT LINES PAYING OT AND SE NOT>?.......BECAUSE NO ONE :1036316054:WILL SAY ANYTHING IN FEAR OF LOSING HIS OR HER JOBS.....DONT WORRY I AM WRITING A NASTY LETTER TO YOUR CEO:nutkick:

IF THAT IS TRUE THEN WHY ARE MOST FREIGHT LINES PAYING OT.....?........WHY IS S.E.F.L. THE EXCEPTION?.........I KNOW.......YALL ARE SCARED TO SAY ANTHING ABOUT IT.....:hide:

Probably the same reason that some jobs have good benefits and some don't. There are alot of companies that don't pay overtime. I hardly think it comes down to people being afraid to say anything. In my case I don't care because I still get paid for 5-7 more hours than I work each week.

electraglideatl,
The Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938 allows for carriers (inter/intra-state) to file for an exemption known as a "section 13(b)11" exemption request from the overtime formula provided by the FLSA. There are guidelines laid out in sec. 551 of the FLSA that govern these exemption requests...

There are and have been many carriers that do or have used this exemption...

Hey electraglidatl the companies that pay overtime pay it to keep the men and women happy so they will keep the union out. At one time af was thinking of bringing the union in and the started paying overtime to keep the union quite. and by the way a ceo could care less if you write to them to complain about overtime.

I guess electraglideatl would rather come to a non union site and @itch about us not getting overtime while his companies stock has plumeted. At least SEFL is a Profitable company that is stable. I am not worried about getting layed off tomorrow although I did get cut tonite

sometimes having a job you have to go with their ways or look for another..they pay good enough and are a decent enough place to work it seems..

Now wait a minute. BigChevy80, you say you are salaried at 60 hours. You must be in linehaul dispatch.
