SO I'M NOT A NEW EMPLOYEE AT NEMF. I'VE BEEN HERE FOR 4 1/2 YEARS SO FAR IT'S NOT A BAD JOB THERE IS BASIC BS EVERYWHERE MOST OF THE TIME A LITTLE LESS AT TERM 52. I STARTED AS HD DRIVER. I'VE DONE WEEKEND LINEHAUL, WORKED THE DOCK ON THE BREAK, AND IN THE LAST EIGHT MONTHS HAVE BEEN A REGULAR P&D DRIVER. I JUST WANT TO KNOW THE REAL DEAL HERE B4 I INVEST TIME IN MAKING THIS A CAREERhttp://www.truckingboards.com/trucking/upload/images/smilies/butt%20kiss.gif
:butt kiss:

If you would unlock the caps lock and stop yelling it would be better.
4and 1/2 years seems like a bit of an investment and you still not know the real deal.

By the way welcome to truckingboards.

what do you want to know? you've been here longer than many of us here on the boards.

also, turn off your caps lock, it's considered rude. in the world of message boards, caps means you're yelling. in the nemf forum, we're all soft spoken gentlemen, so caps please.

If you have already invested 4 1/2 years you might as well wait out a few more and see what happens. By 2010 the northeast will be booming with freight again because of the expansion of the panama canal. This will create evem more work for the regional ltl carriers and hurt the long haul outfits. This year has been a rough one for all the trucking companies but believe me MS has more then enough money to hold out. They will not be selling this company until MS is in his grave and even still I don't see Nancy letting go of daddy's pride and joy either unless the moeny is far too good. Give it time my friend the frieght swing will be back in our hands shortly..

I've been with NEMF almost six years. It's a well run company, don't let anyone fool you. All LTL companies have "bumps" in the operation. This company has grown in a market were others have withered. We must all improve to stay competive. In the Northeast it is tough to match our service lanes. The company takes the extra step to get the customer's freight delivered on time. Sometimes as a company we have to spend money by running a late city clean up to keep an account happy. This is a sales oriented company so we will push the sale of the expansion area and grow. As a driver we are NEMF so sell our services to the customer. Give sales leads, look at the other freight at our stops. That is how get new moves.

Hey NEMF is not a bad company, I do enjoy working for them. You just have to learn to read behind the scenes of the local leadership, I think NEMF is here to stay for the long run.

Well guys you have to excuse this guy because if he is from Ellenville, he has been sucking in the fumes from VAW and Imperial Schrade for years. Now that they have closed he is finally getting fresh air and his brain is working OT.

Plus he had that maniac Joe S dispatching for a little while.......OUCH.

Good luck over there and give Paul a kiss

Did I hear right that Joe S was fired, yet again ??

APA, Red Star, Fed Ex, Land Air, New Penn and NEMF......I think he worked at Yellow as well....Thats some track record.

i was one of the few who had a wonderful interaction with joe s we almost came to blows because he is such a hothead and i'm a 6'0 300 lb ginny from brooklyn (i live in ellenville because i was able to own and not pay insane taxes)

Why would NEMF hire a guy with a resume like his in the first place... Nemf always preaches, how they want to be the best and hire quality people to fit that vision, then they go out and hire someone like him, with that track record... seems hypocriticle to me.

I think for the most part we have quality people, but a few bad apples always get in the mix. Was he a local dispatcher or a linehaul dispatcher?
