I spoke to a mechanic in the shop last night and he told me there is some new line haul power being purchased. Volvos and Freightliners.....any body else heard or seen any of them? I know ABF is running some Freightliner daycabs. DS.

ya moparman there were a few floating around for the triples operation. maybe the sleeper team drivers could elaborate on this.

but as far as the sterlings. glad to see them go.
the ride is horrible but the handling was not real bad and the power a little more than the volvos.
the blue and orange sterlings are noisy from the exhaust and no one writes them up. along with the other problems.

hey ds i am on my way for the last 671 round for the winter.

cu on the board

the blue freightliners can not be used in Oregon for triples because of lenth requirements, that I believe is only reason there are a few of them still out west.....there are two of them Volvo's in KC that apparently they have been looking for, for over a year they were never supposed to be Roadway trucks or something like that....

Lots of freightliners coming to the notheast for the double bottom op. I guess this month. so they say

New blue Volvos are out and about in the northeast. 450 Detroits in em. Double bottom haulers. Thats all, everything else in em is the same. They headed from Buffalo into MA last night.

New 08 Volvos have particulate collector on exhaust. This anti-pollution device heats up to 800 degrees and actually glows red hot. Take a look at the material that's circulating about this device. I've seen memos in several terminals.

Some dumbass is gonna put the wrong diesel in them and clog it all up too. One of our fuel stops Sapp Brothers has pumps with both.

:hysterical:That is sad but ture. Most of the truck stops I go to dont have low-sulfur diesel anymore. They all have switched to ultra low sulfur diesel now, but I only go to Pilots, or dumpy *** T/A's to buy fuel. Sometimes I go to a Petro, or some off the wall fuel stop, I just don't see low sulfur diesel anymore.

The new volvos do not have the new engines in them yet. The ones on the mass pike still have the same old engine that they came with. They don`t pull worth a ::shit:: some hills as slow as 20 m.p.h. So we have not seen any new engine yet.
