Is the Memphis,TN terminal hiring? I have called & been told no..that they have laid 1-2 people of or so in the last couple of weeks,but everyday in the Memphis Commercial Appeal there is an ad for "drivers sales reps".....everyday! So whats going on,are the people that I talked to blowing smoke or is what they are telling me the truth?

I can't say for sure but given the time of year, I would say that they are probably not hiring right now. I can't explain why they are still placing help wanted adverts, but generally speaking LTL companies don't hire in the winter time. This is a time when there is usually a pretty bad slump in freight so lay offs happen and things generally don't start picking up until mid to late spring.

At our place they are looking for 2 drivers. The reason I would guess is we have a good amount of turnover. They might have the same problem where he is at.
 
We just hired 4 part timers at my barn due to there being too much overtime. Same thing could be happening there.
