A Tribute To Consolidated Freightways

Seeing some of those old 16's idling with those 903's stinking up the yard brought back some memories. Good video. I've seen it before. Thanks from Seattle.

You're welcome 905. I never worked for CF but knew many guys who did. Seeing those pics made it hard to believe that they're really gone.

The CF terminal in Erie, Pa. is back up for sale. The trucking company that bought it was a flatbed company that pulled shingles for GAF. Well GAF bit the big one and they are gone, in Erie only, and most likely this small trucking company will too.

Geez, just like I said when CF closed....it brings a tear to your eye and puts a lump in your throat but makes you damn proud to know you were a part of it...

Miss Cf

MY DAD DROVE OUT OF CHARLOTTE,NC.HE WAS ONE OF THE FIRST TEAM TO RUN OUT TO CALIF.I STILL HAVE A BUNCH OF HATS,DIECAST TRUCKS,PATCHES AND OTHER STUFF.WHEN THEY TORE DOWN THE CLT TERM IT WAS LIKE I GOT :nutkick:

What a great video! It brings back so many memories.
I sure do miss all the friends I worked with at CF.

hey stld dude Im frm stl as well I know a few of of the guys that worked for cf I felt so sorry for them. I have many aquaintinces where I work and I know it would be hard not seening then anyore because of a closure. It is a shame of a company like CCX---Bastards!

Well done on the video.Every time i see one of those conway drivers it makes me want to spit in their faces.I know it sounds harsh but i can't help it the scumbags that they are!!

The Con-Way drivers had nothing to do with closing of CF, you should not hold any bad feelings toward them it was corporate that closed us down.

Yea right.Just by them working there and contributing to their success is enough reason!Screw them, what goes around comes around!

Well you are entitled to your opinion and the same for me. I have decided to move on, I have some friends that work for Con-Way that I would hate to see out on the street. It really sucks starting over again. Some of my friends that worked a Red Star start over at Holland had a tough time but they worked through it, and now have a union job again. Was it right that CF and Red Star was closed down??? Absolutely not, but there is nothing a p&d driver can do about it. They say time will heal your wounds, maybe it will for you.:smilie_132:

Boy did someone feed you a line of bull. Conway is the old CF without the union. The whole reason Con-Way was started years ago was to do exactly what it did, try to bust the union. CF built Con-Way...
You're on the wrong message board to be posting pro Con-Way....

I am an ex CF driver. I now work for Holland. I am 100% union. If you think a driver has anything to do with a way a company is run, then I have a bridge I would like to sell you. If want to wish ill feelings on someone that had or could not do anything to save CF, (meaning the Con-Way drivers) then feel that way. I am not myself (you can if you want) going to go through life with a personal vendetta against drivers from another company that all they were trying to do is earn a living too. It was CF corporate that close CF, in my opinion. So I guess I am full of a line of bull, not hate.

the driver's don't run the company but they sure didn't have any trouble running around tell the shippers that they were union free and that we WERE GOING TO SHUT OUR DOORS long before we did and don't tell me they didn't do that i know that for a fact and it was the drivers
