Yellow | I have a suggestion for those of you who want to vote NO and close us down

Wow, it's really nice to see all the "no" sayers sticking together. Will you all stick together if the doors shut or will you all throw each other under the bus and play cut throat just to get what few jobs are out here?

They'll blame each other for the condition of the bus, who was driving, who was supposed to be driving, where they supposed to be driving to, who decided to drive there, who put reverse or forward options on the bus etc...

I don't agree with your reasoning Joe' but this response had me LOL.

The no voters reasoning keeps me coming back here, they are entertaining. They are the only people in this great country wanting to loose a decent job with bennies most unemployeed would die for! Yet they still try to justify it.

If you woulda made that comment 2 years ago, i would have agreed with you 100%........ But YRC has proven itself!... it already murdered 15 thousand jobs... cut our pay back to rookie driver status... killed the dream of us ever being able to retire with a decent pension.... and now wants to drive the final nale in the teamster coffin.

Yeah, I can see where a yellow belly would think that way!

Since you all will be throwing away a ton of money to conjob, fedex and wall streeters who will take your loads, your money and leave you with nothing, I submit that in exchange for becoming the laughingstock of the freight world and killing YRC and ABF within a year:

Ask conjob to give us some money for the holiday season to buy gifts for our families, maybe fedex can kick in some money for the bills. Wall street who are laughing as we speak can finance upgrades to the projects I think Obama should build us as we'll likely be on welfare a while. Wall street types can sit in million dollar homes laughing at the dumb union working man with the hundreds of millions theyve made with our destruction and laugh about how we laid down without vaseline and without a fight-calm submission. yes, lets all go from being hard working men to wlefare bums. And that is exactly what may of us will be-losers.

And you think a yes vote is not going to hurt ABF or the Freight industry as a whole???

They must be debt free, kids are grown or in perfect health, wife with a bread winning jobs, no mortage, hefty bank accounts, holding a degree or two in case of a sudden career change, or have everything ready for retirement!

You have to stick around to fight! Kind of hard to fight while standing in the unemployment line. Only Con-Way, Fed Ex, Old D and the rest of them win when you say no!

gottem ( rather large too ) ...now you grow a brain.

I think there is a real chance here to make a BIG difference in the LTL industry! If YRC folds, theres going to be a BIG hole in the LTL market that will need to be filled fast!

No company out there has the man power in place to take the onslaught of freight without hiring us!

"IF" we can ALL be men, and realize our worth as experienced LTL drivers, and DO NOT take a driving job for less then 100% scale!
They need us!! if there not getting anyone to fill there holes, there going to have to sweeten the deal!!

unemployment will last about a year! the trucking company's wont if they don't find drivers to deliver the freight! And for any of those who remember the last time we went on strike for a month, the non union carriers tried to cash in on our customers! what happened was they lost more of there old customers then they gained new ones do to not being able to service all the influx of freight! the same will happen here!

Use your heads guys!! this just might be the BEST opportunity we've had in a LONG time!!

That big hole left by YRC closing will be filled by guys presently laid off at the other jobs. Also, no one can compare today's situation with anything that has happened in the past. When Friedman's closed there were 8 Teamster companies. 7 when St Johnsbury closed. 6 when Preston closed. 5 when CF closed. Now due to Zollar's ego, there are 3 Teamster companies left, and only 1 that is still part of the same pension plans as YRC. So that only leaves ABF as the only viable job to seek, in order to keep what is considered "the Standard. The freight will get split up between ABF, UPSF, and all the nonunion companies. Where does anyone really think this freight will end up? Confidence in the remaining Teamster companies will decline rapidly and most of the freight will end up at the nonunion jobs. That means at least 10 or so companies splitting the freight. Once they call in their layoffs, there might only be thin pickins for the unemployed YRC people.

WWJHD? What would Jimmy Hoffa do? Not baby Jimmy Jr., but James Riddle "Jimmy" Hoffa a real Union Leader with the balls to do whats right for labor.

Hoffa was involved with the International Brotherhood of Teamsters union, as an organizer from 1932 to 1975. He served as the union's General President from 1958 to 1971. He secured the first national agreement for teamsters' rates in 1964, and played a major role in the growth and development of the union, which eventually became the largest single union in the United States, with over 1.5 million members during his terms as its leader.

You are trying to convince people with an entitlement attitude. They ignore reality and facts. They feel betrayed. YRC does not owe them anything. Everyone employed at YRC has been paid what has been agreed to. If they feel that they can do better somewhere else they should try. But it is they who are the cowards, they fear risking a change until it is forced on them. And many will complain that they cannot find a job if YRC goes away.

Dumbest post ever!

Or they don't have a pot to #iss in never did, never will, and don't care.

windbag give it a break . i beleave the no votes will prevail this time as this is not the great job it used to be a most are just tired of being abused the managment -the teamster locals who just take our dues and say YES they can do that and the yes men who would work for free just to have a place to get away from your house

You are trying to convince people with an entitlement attitude..
I believe we are entitled to what was agreed to in the NMFA...No More...No Less

They ignore reality and facts..
No, I believe they are being distorted by those you choose to blindly follow as a matter of self preservation

They feel betrayed..
Yes, I feel betrayed by Jr.Hoffa and Tyson

YRC does not owe them anything..
Again, We are owed what was agreed to in the NMFA...No More...No Less

Everyone employed at YRC has been paid what has been agreed to..
No we haven't

But it is they who are the cowards, they fear risking a change until it is forced on them. .
I'm far from a coward .. I feel a change should benefit myself and family.. This deal doesn't! It will ensure the laid off are never recalled and those part timers will not have health and welfare

And many will complain that they cannot find a job if YRC goes away.
Already have one
