If I didn't say it yet:
Congratulations on our first ever Historic Contract! :beerchug:
It could have been tweaked a bit more, but it sure is better than what we currently have.

It's too late to speculate...time to move forward.

Tomorrow is "Hug Your Boss" day.

Does this mean I have to call liebstandarte brother. OK! Brother liebstandarte where are you? Are you whooping it up?....:funky:

He is preprinting his grievance forms

A New Begining

After sitting and going over the "contract" for several days, all I can say is that there are so many loopholes, and contradictions in it that it looks like a block of Swiss Cheese. The holes are so big that the UPS lawyers could fly a DC-10 through some of them. The next five years will be be the new begining of grievences and arbitration to get the pay and benefits that we were told about but were not clearly spelled out. My first bet will be the vacation pay issue.:chairshot:

Adjust your log books accordingly. Swipe that clock.. hit the bottom line on the log or it might come back to haunt you!!:1036316054:

Really I already figured that. I will be doing it by the book now. I don't mind when I know I'm getting paid for what I will be doing.
Thanks for the heads up shoeman.:1036316054:

Hello all my fellow TEAMSTERS!!! How do you all feel, now that it is all coming together? I am a little inebriated at this particular moment. It has been quite the struggle. A few beers with my fellow co-workers and a few whiskeys on the rocks when I got home, and it is all good in my neighborhood!!! Elvis is a happy camper. Our future is so bright our mothers are calling us SUN!!!!! What a ya think? TEAMSTER Elvis out....

I like it

WOW has the mood changed here or is it just me,it might be fun to get on the boards again without all of s**t flying around.I was getting tired of cleaning that stuff off the screen every time I logged on hahahaha.

That was my feeling too. So many threads and so many thoughts about the contract.
It got confusing if you missed a day on the boards.
Once it starts to come together and the Yes Votes start over ruling the No votes, you can see the light and it starts feeling like a huge weight has been lifted from your shoulders.

The DVD helped (Except for having to try and follow stuttering Stanley) as well as getting the needed clarifications at the actual Ratification meeting.

Yes, They really should of had someone who could follow cue cards, It would have been a bit more professional.

And you still have a christman tree up in April why?

You noticed!:hide: I broke out the top part of the tree just to take that picture. I was feeling jolly after we annihilated the NO voters.
What helped was the amount of NO voters that didn't show up. It might and I say might have swayed the vote or made it close, but it's now water under the bridge and it's time to take a deep breath and move forward.

Its very hard for me to understand that employees did not care enough to at least go to the meeting and vote for or against. In general I think most are just plain disgusted with all the events that have taken place over the last few years. But still...........Like you said, water over the bridge at this point.

We had over 100 guys that didn't show up. These are the guys that complain the most at my terminal. Go figure. Buster & Dockworker are right. It's a done deal if your terminal is represented. Might as well look at the positives and start working on your local suppliments. Time to move on. Change is a coming and coming FAST.
