FedEx Freight | LineHaul Realignment

Not Sure!!!!!!

Spike....If your center is any where near the I-80 Turnpike then you might be a little concerned,maybe,-- not positive at this point.

I wish everyone would stop complaining and wait to see what is going to happen if you don't like fedex ups around the corner besides all trucking co. has it's ups and downs i've been in ltl for 22yrs so deal with it.

I was told the purchase trailers (and this was a meeting held this past week) are going to come to an end and use Fedex sister companies aka "National","Ground",etc to haul each others freight. I can go along with that...why line Conway's pocket (CFI) when we can line our OWN!! ALSO...I have heard the realignments affect only certain centers,or atleast the major changes do. I am at a North Texas center and have had test runs done in the last recent months and afraid may lose 14 runs!!

DAL region(amendment)

I should say the alignment is going to be nationwide, but only centers who can be cut out of the mix and be bypassed may be bypassed to get the freight down the road with fewer trucks. Bottom line I see Fedex making changes due to fuel costs and this will mean there will be lost jobs. Basically move the freight with less trucks by making longer runs.....

Has anybody else noticed that in the light of the upcoming company "adjustments",that there is only one or two openings for linehaul drivers for Fedfreight, but several for Fednational??Hmmmm, they're growing, and we're having......adjustments!!

We had a realignment that happened last July and during this realignment I believe there were 300 plus drivers who lost their jobs or relocated. If they did not relocate then they were out of a job. There were a lot of guys who did not relocate which left a shortage in drivers at National. This may be some of the reason you see a need for drivers there.

I heard that jax was going to lose 8 to 15 of their day runs to be split between sav and orl don't know if true or not

Creepers right, I looked at the weekly internal job postings and national has 17 road openings, most appear to be at hubs. Fedex East has ONE! at a non hub center.:hide: I am at a center where we run meet and turns with Fedex West in a PHX lane but we are not on an interstate like the other PHX lanes that run to our North and our South down I-20 and I-10. Rumours abound every time we re-align, were moving there or they are moving here, I'm Getting a little (understatement) aggitated with the mushroom treatment....:Poke::tribe:
