when you talk about summer events are you talking about if FedEx does stuff for the workers or events outside of work that doesnt include FedEx?

That's what I thought and I wanted to make sure. Here at our terminal they dont sponsor hardly anything. The only thing they really try to put effort towards is the picnic and on that they have a team of drivers that pretty much put it together.

Forget cookouts.
FXF has to spend the money to buy fuel.
And the worst part is all that money is being sent overseas to places like Venezuela and the Middle East because we have stupid politicians in Congress that won't allow us to drill for our own oil because they have to kiss the behind of the Sierra Club.
I can't wait for gasoline and diesel to get over 6.00 dollars a gallon to see if some Americans will wake up and tell their representatives to:

We always have a company outing in the summer.. also we usually team up with a couple of other centers and have a golf tournament..
But, I am still keen on the whole idea of having a FedEx car/bike show...
Non-company sponsored (so we can enjoy some of Smoke MDG) of course!

i am guessing we would have to do it somewhere close to the chevy cause it wouldnt make it to far at 4.01 a gallon

We're having a company picnic at a waterpark. They did it last year too. It's not really a company picnic in that you share the park with the general public and meet for an hour or so to have a catered lunch by some eatery, then you disperse. Saves the managers a lot of work and they don't have to consort with the rabble.

Maybe the managers have family too and would like to be able to enjoy the day with the families of the others they work with? I'll be darn if I want to be over a grill all day long when the company can pay for the food to be pre-made and served to ALL employees.
It's usually a gathering for ALL employees to get together away from work and meet each others families and congregate. Most of my friends are actually people that I work with, so it's nice to see them all together without blue and purple on.
I like the social events at parks or recreation areas.. If things are not as lively as you would like.. or if the kids are playing and you would like to take a stroll with the wife, and walk with an old friend on another shift that you have not seen in a while, you can..

A water park would be nice. I thought I could check out the office girls in swimsuits, but then I realized the road drivers would be in swimsuits too,and I would have to poke my eyes out with those little plastic forks.

We had a cookout for our center at a local park a couple of years ago.Volleyball,basketball,softball,horseshoes,games and prizes for the little kids.Food etc.It was alot of fun.But because nobody wants to put forth any effort we're having a combined center gathering at Six Flags.Same as last year which I have no desire to do.Who the hell wants to mingle with several thousand other people wait in a line for rides and eat tainted food!How impersonal(is that a word)is that

we don't do much herat wmd, use to.thinking about asking fed if they want to combine this year.last couple of years we got together on our own played softball against each other, i myself only played in one the games. it was really alot of fun.one guy had a trophy made and you had bragging rights until the next game.so what i'm thinking is , if we can get together and do this we should be able to get together for a picnic.phl-bmm-cin-hgr-hsg and yes you to jerk can come also.don't know if this will happen but i'll put the word out.
I used to love the ones they have in SAC when I was there, 2000/2001. They had it at the Water World at Cal Expo. It was great. People from other terminals used to make sure they attended. I guess those days are over. Afer a certain time, I can't remember, they park would close to all but us. party time. Beer was available, plus catered food and raffles. THE BEST!!!!
