Here is a tip:

For those guys who are laid off, "DO NOT ACCEPT ANY ROAD WORK WHILE ON LAYOFF" you are only prolonging your layoff, if you think i am blowing smoke, then ask a old timer...they will tell you. Also make sure you sign up for Unemployment Benefits, the company doesnt like paying drivers on unemployment.
Also if you can sign up to work the dock, hopefully there is a enough work where you may be able to bring home more than unemployment.

Peace out brothers and sisters, HOLD THE LINE!!!

10% layoffs

i was told that there is going to be 10% layoffs at roadway does anyone have any more info.

Correct me if I'm wrong...

Signing up to work dock will put dock workers on extended layoff. Not a team effort thought IMO.

yes it is a small barn and in a couple of weeks roadway comes in.and yes wayno is right about his post.some guys go out 16 stops and run like mad men so the bosses say why work the bottom my top monkees are knocking the snot out of it.

the latest rumor mill here in the poconos has 14 dock bids being cut. also, 6 p&d, 1 switcher, 1 dock/switcher, and 1 city/switcher.

was told originally by the lyin hawaiian no cuts for the dock.

so the old adage is true again. if their lips are moving, they're lying!!!

As some one sad before time for some more SLAVINOMICS. Forget it everything that comes out of the JAPANESE HARLEY WANNA BE, is a LIE.

688 we are busy got 53 hours on this check and we are shipping tonnage, gee z I even helped secure some new business, was Conway freight and we picked up the shipments due to some good old customer service( got a ataman from the TM for that one) also secured another 15 pallets from another shipper that was undecided as to who they were going to use that was last week however the axe falls for the second hard worker this thanksgiving eve happy thanksgiving not.

am I missing something here?

naw ES they tried their damnest to keep us from breaking layoff to keep from paying the holiday pay but we worked back on with those top guys giving up some hrs and days or it might have been they were trying to get out of town and on the road early.
