XPO | How Green Is Your Facility?

We have a driver that works the dock and complains(a lot) about not being able to breath because the forklifts are running.:funky: He wants us to switch to electric forklifts.

That seems, to me, a strange manner in which to look at ones own species. However I suppose a quick glance at history would seem to confirm your stance, especially if you look at the history of wars and mankind's mad, uncontrolled scramble for materialism. But IHO that is a superficial, one sided view. One that has it's basis in commonly accepted human history, and I, for one, don't accept the "common" view. Therefore your claim of it as "fact" might better be termed theory. To this date the greatest decimation, or attempts at eradication, of the "herd" has been perpetrated by our own kind, i.e. the rich. Which incidentally do not consider themselves quite the same as you and me. That is how these same elitist's justify addressing the first tenet.}
We're too civilized for war and breeding for canon fodder. Nature WILL control the viruses numbers. There's history yet to be made. Press on

"We are a virus to this earth" Now that is an interesting statement coming from you, sounds like something Henry Kissinger would say. You're not going to next be quoting the tenets from the Georgia Guidestones are you?
1. Maintain humanity under 500,000,000 in perpetual balance with nature.
2. Guide reproduction wisely - improving fitness and diversity.
3. Unite humanity with a living new language.
4. Rule passion - faith - tradition - and all things with tempered reason.
5. Protect people and nations with fair laws and just courts.
6. Let all nations rule internally resolving external disputes in a world court.
7. Avoid petty laws and useless officials.
8. Balance personal rights with social duties.
9. Prize truth - beauty - love - seeking harmony with the infinite.
10.Be not a cancer on the earth - Leave room for nature - Leave room for nature.
The Georgia Guidestones
Thank you for turning me to the above, just plain good reading, and you know how I like to read and research. I have viewed nature since I was a little tike and not knowing what it was all about untill I started to connect all the dots. Thank you again.:smilie_132:

vi·rus /ˈvaɪrəs/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[vahy-ruhs] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation
–noun, plural -rus·es. 1. an ultra microscopic (20 to 300 nm in diameter), metabolically inert, infectious agent that replicates only within the cells of living hosts, mainly bacteria, plants, and animals: composed of an RNA or DNA core, a protein coat, and, in more complex types, a surrounding envelope.
2. Informal. a viral disease.
3. a corrupting influence on morals or the intellect; poison.
4. a segment of self-replicating code planted illegally in a computer program, often to damage or shut down a system or network.

Well......#1 does not apply......#2, perhaps, perhaps as an anthropomorphication.....but a stretch at best.....#3, maybe this one, but, still should have been prefaced with "is like" allowing it to become an alligory......#4, eh....no, not even in the ballpark.......

Problem with a virus, is there is no way to kill it.......the symptoms can be controlled (to a degree in some cases), but they tend to morph at the most inopportune moments, and, then we get back to that old....they can't be killed thing.....viruses are nasty little buggers, always adapting to their surroundings, and, in the extreme, kill their hosts......man, talk about rude behaviour......

Thought you might find that interesting. Those are the tenets of the global elite, NWO crowd. I get a kick out of people claiming the environmentalists are killing us with their demands to save wildlife, cleanup industry and by their preventing us from drilling off our shores when the financiers of these industries and the financiers of the environmentalist movement are the same people. If we listened closely we might hear them laughingly say...foolish goyim.

as a company we could do alot morte than what we are, but what I have seen at our terminal is mostly lack of ambition when it comes to throwing things out,and far to much what some think of as junk wood gets thrown out daily, but once again everything starts at the top.......its called making people aware of what should be thrown, and where it should be thrown to, just my thoughts......

Green?

I looked into getting a paper retreiver to recycle paper like the ones at teh schools. $45 a month and $200 a dump. Cheaper to toss into the big yellow dumpster. We have not converted to 100% LCD screens that use 10% of the power and do not produce heat. We do not turn off computers on the weekend (or lights). Sale cars, city trucks and hostlers could be purchased to burn propane at facilities with tanks. Timers in closets and bathrooms to turn off lights. Encourage employees to recycle paper, plastic, cans and other material by provided proper containers and selling the products. Sell broken wood to pallet companies that use a chipper to create mulch. Just some random thoughts.

Con-Way going Green!!!!!

:hide: From my limited experience, I have seen Con-Way limit the trucks to 62 MPH, and limit idle time to 2 and 1/2 minutes.
I have also seen the furnace run 24/7 while the office rats run fans to keep cool.
I have also seen the a/c run 24/7 , while the office rats run portable heaters to keep warm.
Somehow, I cannot understand how we are going green!
Our dumpster is still 85% full of wooden pallets which are headed to the landfill, instead of being re-cylced.
Con-Way going Green is a Crock of S*** with a load of slime covering it. The only way we are going Green is in Dollars and Cents!
In my humble opinion, the whole GREEN thing is for a TAX write off, or energy credits!
Come Con-Way.....show us that you are concerned......sell, no, better yet, give all those pallets to somebody who will re-cycle them..............until then, I will idle my tractor as I see fit to keep warm or cool!!!!!! :smilie_132:
