It will be announced on Thursday (2/12/09) that ABF has purchased USF Holland.
Man, I hope you guys are right!Ok since this is the rumor thread and we dont neeed any subsatiating facts. Here is my theory(Hey a guy can dream can't he).
We keep hearing that ABF wants a regional carrier. YRC is making a regional with national coverage out of its 3 main regional carriers. Since in their heyday Reddaway owned(and may still) the west, Holland owned the midwest, And New Penn still owns the northeast, ABF will buy all three creating an awsome regional network that they will then run like they want them to succeed. All the laid off guys will be called back or hired to new companies and many new ones hired on to handle all the freight from all the economic stimulus that Obama has put in place.
Ok you can find me at the clinic where I will be taking my drug test
I heard that the reason why YRC is closing down Holland terminals is because ABF wants to buy NPME. ABF told YRC that they won't by them (NPME) unless Holland is out of buisiness.
Has anyone heard any rumors about Holland in Indianapolis closing down? There has been a rumor going around that they will be shut down April 2. I hope not; I hope that it's just a rumor. I've got a lot of friends that work there.
Well if we get shut down then they are wasting time putting on eleven new bids 04/05/09 in INDY.Eight to Camp Hill Pa,KC slip,Omaha, and Tomah. But then again YRC isn't the sharpest crayon in the box.
if they shut down indy they would shut down the entire system.
Watch to see if you lose any big customers in Plainfield....that's where the rumors are coming from. That someone else stepped in to cover Holland's service due to their closure on April 2.
