Hey guys,

I am trying to find out what Cowan pays. Interested in numbers on:(OTR)

DT
Stop Fee
Mileage Rate
Do they pay for DH

If anyone can answer these questions for me I would appreciate it. I am trying to send the SLM drivers to good companies. Heard Cowan is pretty good.

yes, their national office was like "call your local terminal" so i'm guessing pay is very different depending on area. I'd be interested, too.

What terminal are you thinking of applying to? I was told that the Northern terminals start as high as .50/mile, while Southern terminals such as Charlotte start at .45/mile thats over-the-road.

Looking to join the fleet in Baltimore. So maybe I can expect .50cpm. Not bad. Do you get paid for DH miles or just loaded miles?

Very few carriers withhold pay for DH (DH=deadhead=empty). The ones that do don't pay by the mile, such as owner operator/lease operator being paid by load percentage or company drivers who are paid percentage, such as car haulers.

There are a few that pay a reduced cpm for dh miles, such as Continental Express in Sidney, Ohio, a refrigerated carrier. They are at about 42 cpm loaded and 25 or so empty.
