FedEx Freight | Insurance Increase

same thing every year we get a raise they take it away in our insurance premiums but the coverage seems to get worse every year also.or they seem not to want to pay anyting.at the end of the year im going to go under my wifes (wich isnt hard to do) but one thing i wont like is losing my primary doctor but i have to do whats best for us

yup changes are coming but from what i've heard some things will be good (yet to be seen). Coverages and premiums are changing. We still get to pick and chose what level of coverage we need and in many cases the weekly premiums are going down which will be a nice change.

I feel your pain..the wife and I have a mandatory meeting on Sat., we are leaving Cigna and going to Blue Cross, we don't even have rumors to go on, no rumors on cost increase or decrease. I'm sort of excited to hear all about it but nervous at the same time, PFG doesn't do a whole lot that doesn't benefit the employees, but money is tight everywhere. Just wanted to tell you guys I know what your feelin.

premiums should go down, the coverage certainly has

HR said we are losing the POS option. That has been the only plan I have used. I think it's a huge money saver for the company. I have to pay almost double for everything from co-pay to premiums, but for me , it's the only way to go.

OPtion's,,,,,,,

I'm Thank full that I have Health coverage, but I wish we had option's for different companies,I would prefer to have Blue Care Network.:1036316054:

Hey Thrower, From my past (in another life), I wish we had Blue Cross over here. Basically Blue Cross paid 80% and I paid 20% sometimes less. I NEVER
had a problem getting them to pay their share, and it was done without the
phone calls and yelling and screaming that happens here now.

We will have Blue Cross or Aetnea, I couldn't tell from the map, for what we as a family have now, its going to be around a $10 per week increase, some things got better, more better than worse.
Like Cornbinder said, I'm thankful I have insurance, at least we don't have to pay $500 a month for it. We lost in our 401K, that was because the majority of employees were not contributing enough, so they took that money and are paying half our dental now, so thats good.
Our meeting only lasted one hour, not bad for some 35 employees there, only 2 questions were asked if you can believe that. All in all, even though we have the increase, the co-pays dropped, no more going to my family doc just to get refered to a specialist, that will save, now we just go to the spec.doc, that saves the company and me, anyhow, thats my deal.

How would FedEx or any other business keep premiums down when health care costs are averaging annualized double-digit increases every year?

Thats an easy one, its all about giving back to the people that are responsible for the profits in the first place. Instead of giving an increase in pay and then canceling it out by an insurance increase, give a raise for once and don't increase premiums for employees, let the execs. eat it for once, they are already rich, maybe they can not give a raise for themselves for once. Every company decides how much to contribute to insurance, PFG shows us on our checks how much they contribute in relation to our contribution, I think mine is $44.00 compared to their $193.00, something like that. If you have an exec. making $200.00 per hour compared to an employee making $20.00 per hour, well, thats a big difference, thats the trouble with money you can never make enough, someone has to take the hit, its always the people in the trenches. Turn that around, just one time, tell everyone about it and you would have some happy people on your hands. I know it will never happen due to the greed up top, but its not hard to figure out how to get it done.
