East region closures I know.

XCL looses FAC.
XSN closes for good. City and FAC.
XAY gains both FAC's.

XSN Sharon, Pa
XMR Mentor, Oh
XLC Lancaster, Oh
XLM Lima, Oh
XXD Dansville, NY
XUC Utica, NY
XPA Pottsville, Pa
XDC Dayton, NJ
XSQ Spring Valley, NY

I might have missed a few but those are accurate.

As far as XSN.

40 drivers to XAY, 21 to XLF, 2 to XAQ, and 2 or 3 to XPB.

XAY gains most of Sharon's P&D.

XLF is gaining XSN's east and north p&d territory.

XPB and XAQ must be gaining the far south region of Sharon's former territory.

I'm lucky that I am not tied down with a house or family, and have enough seniority to make the move I want.

I'm not religious, but my thoughts and prayers are with the drivers who cannot move with the freight. I genuinely wish all those affected nothing but the best of luck.

Good for the company? Good for Employees? Good for WHO!?
:hide: Hopefully good for the Company and the employees who retain their positions.
For sure NOT good for the employees who lose employment.
If you stop and think about it, closing 40 Terminals and maintaining the same or better service product does make sense. :smilie_132:

I agree. Our geographical area is supposed to double its size come the 17th of this month. Some areas being about 2hrs away. We dont get on the road till usually around 11am every day. That puts us out there around 1300. Thats not giving much time to get everything off.:Bondage: Our dispatcher has already been crying he has to much work with only 5 city guys. Where supposed to double that in 2 weeks.:biglaugh:

Just a little info guys...

Every DSR will be given the option to relocate to another service center.... If a DSR leaves it will be due to personal choice not job elimination...

If you are an FOS,CSR or SCM at one of the 40 locations is where the positions are in jeopardy. There are not going to be a the same number of CSR/FOS and SCM positions...

Also every location that will be closed was a leased facility, meaning We didn't own them so we can walk away without having vacant property just sitting...

I My thoughts and prayers are with everyone who is impacted by this move.

I would ask that nobody freak out about this change. It is not going to be simple or painless but it will benefit every remaining employee overall. It will save upwards of 30 million dollars a year while keeping DSR levels the same or higher overall. (No paying the rent or 40 SCM salaries)

Again, Good luck and my prayers to all those impacted and don't hesitate to PM me if you have concerns.

That sucks, I hope all the people I have known over my ten years at conway are ok. This is clue to who I am, do you have a dollar, need a head butt, your fired. The drivers I worked with will know who I am....I left in april....I seen the writting on the wall.

I know for a fact that several were not leased locations, for instance Alliance Texas is ours, it is also brand new multi dollar facility with a drive thru wash bay. Also NWN is a owned facility with a shop, the service center is not closing just the FAC and the shop are closing.

Alliance....

I was surprised to hear that Alliance would be closed.

For the drivers who are looking for a driving job make sure when you are searching the web to include "courier" as one of the keywords that you search.

Doubt that any of you will be out of work for long.

Good luck,
Bill

The End is closer than you think.

Look fellas, I dont want to be a naysayer, But a reality check is in order. I worked for JEVIC as a reginol driver. and well they went out fast. It was suspossed to be a re-alignment, B.S. look at the other companys that has made such a statement, They are gone. Union or not. Gather your stuff at get out before con way floods the market with unemployed drivers. Trust me, You will be better off else where.:chairshot::toxic::duh:

Hate to agree with this guy, closing any terminal is a sad sign,Saving 40 million a year is just a line of crap management is shoving down your throat to make this easier to swallow.

Please tell me where you get your facts. did you look at the conway balance sheet today or what? We are going to keep stealing your freight and make money. Thsi powerful machine is only getting more powerful and will make much more money next year. we won't see it, but they are not going anywhere....

Moartsghost: some of the things you say are close. Some are way off. We have 10 drivers losing there jobs. 19yrs, 18 Yrs, 15 yrs, 12 yrs, 10 yrs, and the rest with less that 9 yrs. They have no where to go unless they transfer across country. Then they don't dovetail they start at the bottom of the board.

Next the places they are closing most are owned by the company. Mine is. and it is less than 5 yrs old 2 others in my area are less than 10 yrs old. xmf is a new building xsn is not leased.
