Yellow | YRCW News Release 11/28/08

Silverstreak your a company suckass the guy at work that will go into the office and S*ck D*ck to keep your job.
YOU DONT UNDERSTAND we go out od business you think terminal manager will have a job. You think Zollars will have a job.YOU really think the board of directors who own stock in this company will allow Zollars to go from Yellow-Roadway-USF to Longistics and china companies? A $10 BILLION company to less than $5 million company.
Dont you think by anouncing this CONWAY,FED EX, ABF are not already at customers.
Come on get your lips off Term Man\Dispatchers D*ck and look up.
Why should I take 15% Off and my Terminal Manager who drives a Hummer or Road Dispatcher who drives a BMW not take one.
Union officials in local union that make over $100,000 dont take a cut.
(BTW my Local is not on that list.)
SHUT IT DOWN
PS Moderator sorry for the lang

Yeah, shut it down! Those guys like going in debt up to their ears to drive fancy cars so its got to be there fault so screw em. shut it down. I can find a good job anywhere I want right now. shut it down. I dont have any debt and I can live off unemployment. shut it down. I'm a hard core teamster and I aint taking the companies sh*t any more so shut it down. Even though I know most of my teamster brothers wont be able to make it or find a job, I dont care cause Dollar Bill is an @ss, so shut it down.

give me a freakin break. Oh, and by the way, if you want my big high payin dispatch job, and THINK you can do better its yours. Now here's where you say "I wouldnt want that job if it was the last one on earth".

We make more than dispatch, thats why I've turned down management positions in the past. The problem is the incompetent buffons that are put in positions from terminal managers on up,who lose sight of the fact that without customers we don't have freight.A basic tenet to our mode of business that these arrogant asses seem to have forgotten.

yep i agree shut it down f**k dollor bill and yrc chain the gates to all you *** kissers who will vote yes you need to stand up and be a teamster we have to give back because these assholes made many mistakes and there not giving back wake up once you give back you never get it back and every time they mess up they will ask for more so stand up and say no more not now not ever f**k them where they breath

I know KK you always do a great job :1036316054:But if we get a reduction of 15% ,do we get a 15% discount card that we can use at the grocery store and wherever we have to go..I personally think that this is a smokescreen to raise the price of the stock so all the bigwigs can cashout and although I agree with with you almost all of the time ,this time I disagree and my vote will be NO,to me it is just another scare tactic :nutkick: Every company I have worked for has gone out and I guess Yellow wont be any different...

Like it has been said on here before..."we can disagree, without being disagreeable"...I do get 15% off at the grocery store...every Wednesday at Kroger....We do get 23% off our cellphone bill due to YRCW discount.....but anyway...I would take a chance at 85%, then to go looking for another job and make less than the 85% and not have the same H&W and Pension....just my 15%'s worth......KK

Just would like to mention the fact here that I personally have not seen any form of exactly what they are asking for or exactly who all will be taking a cut.
Lets just wait and see exactly what is released an get all the facts before making crazy statements and bashing each other.

Two points, we appreciate you, :console: and, Don't have too, you already did, THANKS. :ShakeHandsNah:

what is mr bill and smid giving back?

With a Yes Vote, they MIGHT be giving some laid off guys their jobs back.

With a No Vote, mr bill and smid might be giving their own jobs up.

Other than that, what they do is actually irrelevant to what we give up.....We'll have to wait and see.

What has the company done to generate business? All I've been reading is what they want to do to get money from us.

Keep in mind, every time a salesman goes to a shipper, a Non-Union salesman can start lower because of our benes. For example, we are paid about $1900 per month into our H and W plus retirement per man each month. At a 200 man terminal, that's $380,000. per month the non-u guy has to play with before he even gets out of the car. I don't want to give Anything up-- but I'm realistic......Leaving our benes alone, while only asking for about $2.00 @ hour Back (for a pre-determined time) in this economy is the best of the options (and I have other jobs to go to, so I 'm not going to be effected., really......)

Here in Indy, the past few years, every time a shipper's contract is up, Fed-Ex or OD takes another from us.....Besides the ones we lose due to service....

THEY WANT MONEY FROM ME THAT ANSWER IS no no no no no no shut the doors no money tell the jerkoffs who make the big bucks to give up there big checks they put us in this mess by buying all these companys we didnt need.......chain the gates

I would like to see.

I would like to see and hear how you are going to explain how you will pay for all you have and take care of your family if yellow and others go under. You may be well set, but others are not. I will not be too affected myself, its the others with families. I can hear you now, " I showed those big bosses, they are out of a job now, thanks to me"

The vote won't even be close, it will be for the amendment.
I'm sure most of the people here that say they will vote no will vote no however we are a minority when it comes to the 40,000 total. The sad thing is that it's probably just a bandaid that will last only a short time, but maybe it will be enough time for some to get in order enough to find new work. Good luck Brother.:highfive:

I am down the block from you at yellow qns um69
I think you are being quite foolish saying this!!!
I am 1 of the strongest union men on this job, so I know how every job that has given back has ended up.
GONE!!!!!
I dont want to give back sh*t!!
but $20 an hr plus benes is better than whats out there.
Have you looked around at how many shippers are going out of business?
What you are not taking into account is this is not a business problem it is a cash flow problem.

Yes they made purchases when the economy was strong, trying to build the company and keep up with ups and fedex.
No one thought the economy would tank like this!!!

The company is buying back $100million of their senior debt which is a good thing!!!!!!
If they wanted to close the doors they wouldnt be doing this, they are trying to ride this mess out and we are on the ship
Yellow needs to keep operating through these tough times.
This is not the old days when we went around the corner and had another teamster job to join on with

If Yellow/Roadway goes, the Teamsters in 707 go!!!!!!
Do you think ABF will be able to employ all of us??????
So by making your statement you are saying no to the 707 brotherhood. If thats what you want, you vote no
and i will see you at the unemployment office

you guys just blow my mind. The morons making statements like SHUT THEM DOWN, vote no, no concessions etc.

Hey if you feel that way get the hell out, that way you won't be going into our customers and telling them we are going out of business, then are surprised when the customers go to another carrier. I have listened go guys be soooo casual about the fact that the company might close.

read the board, THERE ARE NOT ANY GOOD PAYING JOBS OUT THERE RIGHT NOW. You can still pay your bills and feed your family even with a 15% cut in pay. that is unless you have been using the plastic too much. listen to the guys that are laid off, they tell you there are no jobs out there. abf is not going to hire you or enough of you to make a difference. sure there are jobs that pay 30cents per mile, no delay time, spending your nights in a sleeper, and weekends in a truck stop with no pay,and lets not forget, most of these jobs don't believe in hours of service.

Hey just take a few minutes and go and see if you can find any job out there right now that pays what we make even after the cut, or if they pay near what our pay would be with the cut you still have to pay insurance and 401K.

I would rather give back 15% and have a chance that the company can pull out of this. Hopefully the union has some wording in there where after 24 months or so we will return to full pay.

Don't forget that if the company closes down, you pension is gone. someone posted what the government wold pay if they took over the pension. Union pension 25 years approx 2500 per month or 25 years with the government taking it over it will pay just over 10,000 per year. Which one of you wants to take the gamble.
NOT ME>

I hear you all making statements that almost every truck company that has gotten a cut in pay has gone out of business. I read, alvan, preston etc. but they have stayed in business for years.

I will vote yes, and pray that the company can pull out of this, I would rather be making 19.00+ and hour and 49cents a mile than pulling unemployment (390.00) a week. I suggest that all you that dont care if the company close, quit so someone can come back that wants to work.

the economy sucks right now. and it will probably get worse before it gets better. Is it worth the risk to vote no and have the company close down???

thats my 2 cents worth.
excellent post and I'm in agreement with you 100%....the ONLY LOGICAL CHOICE IS TO VOTE YES.....for all the harda$$es planning to vote no, I pray that "OUR" votes override yours......it's our only chance at survival.....I don't like going backwards any more than the next guy, but the alternative is NO job......BE SMART when it comes time to vote, every one of our futures is riding on it......g-man

I said it before and I will say it again.
Nobody has even seen a copy of the so called agreement yet.
Lets just hold off on what we are going to vote until we see exactly what is on the table here. We will all know soon enough.
Its good to talk here about our differences in opinion but until we know exactly whats being asked of us it is foolish to argue over a proposal that no one has seen. I could only hope that they all follow this board so they know exactly how delicate there little agreement will be in our world and keep it fair honest and apply it equaly to all including them.

You guys say.
Oh $20 hr not bad as long as they leave bennies alone.
What about next time.
Oh $17 Hr not bad as long as they leave bennies alone.
Next Time
Oh their lowering Bennies but it's ok as long as were getting $17HR.
How much S*cking can you do?
WHEN THEY TAKE A CUT WE WILL CONSIDER IT.
And no I'm not in great shape financially wife dos not work, but I wont be taken advantage of.
So the bosses driving their Hummers and BMWs can laugh at us as the dummies we are.
SHUT IT DOWN

:popcorn:We don't have any Krogers up here Verizon will only give me $12 off one phone. As far as YRC goes if they want to survive, let them start selling off some of there assets :clap:they could sell Newpenn in a heartbeat, that would make me happy:woot:sell that Chinese company they just bought,do they really need them now,Why is it everytime a company needs fast cash it always seems to go after the employees ,How much is dollar bill willing to give up I truely don't think 15% will hurt him..Then if we do take a reduction I am sure you know the history and paycuts:TR10driving03:
