in our barn we have a problem with the rules when it comes to letting an x-tra board work when a bid driver decides to take off and slide. our problem is that the redshirt doesnt want to have to call anyone!!! my question is why is that his decision??? shouldnt that go by fedx policy??? what can be done so we can help our fellow drivers???

So the bid driver wants to take the day or night off and the red shirt won't allow it to let the extra board driver work?

thats right he doesnt want to make phone calls. he claimes he doesnt know whats going on until its too late to call.then he is out the door asap!!!!

In these tough economic times if a red shirt isn't willing to make an effort to work everyone who wants to and let people stay home who don't. Well then I would talk to your CM and then your regional and then keep going up. That's rediculous!!
In my barn our dispatcher makes every effort to see that extra board works.

the rule says that if the extra board driver isn't working that day/night, the extra board driver can switch with anyone that wants the day/night off REGARDLESS of seniority. You use your seniority when you bid your run. So say like a bid driver wants the night off and the extra board driver doesn't want to work, the extra board driver doesn't have to work because he isn't a bid driver. Say like if a driver with a shorter run wants to do a slide with the extra board driver and the extra board driver agrees, then an upper seniority guy wants to do the slide and the driver says "I have SENIORITY" well it doesn't work like that. It's a first come first serve basis. It's in the company rule book, under slides. READ IT.

if the bid driver wants off and the red shirt is to lazy then the bid and xtra board driver can talk to each other and then call central with the agreement and the xtra board can run. i know since i have done this in the past. central does not have a problem with it as long as you can make the gate time..you guys need our redshirt fl482:, he does all he can to get the xtra board on a run. he'll call bid drivers , central and all:woot:

yep...we slide like crazy here....to bad the red shirts can't get any of it ...he does a pretty good job of getting people off that want it...

Rule Book, we would love to get our hands on a rule book or a hand book or any kind of book with company policies. They like to keep us in the dark out west. They make up rules on the fly.

I thought there were rules against using this kind of language .... I remember jeff saying not to use different words like this for cuss words .....

i'm not on here all the time, i have a life besides sitting on the computer all day so i have not seen it.:Violin::eck13:

The rule is you climb to the top, wait for the kid at the bottom to move then slide down. Unless the kid at the bottom is a tool, in which case you smash him.
