FedEx Freight | Did Everyone Enroll In The NEW 401K Plan??

Just a reminder to check your last paycheck stub to make sure that your contribution to the 401K Plan money was taken out.
As of the first of 2009 we are all in a new FedEx Freight Inc.
401K plan that is separate and in addition to prior existing plans.
We all had to re-apply to get in the new plan and if this happened to me, chances are that others overlooked some of the mailings from Vanguard to enroll in the new plan.
Even if the company match goes away for a year this plan is still a good deal, because it lowers your adjusted gross income.
If you want to also do a Roth IRA in tandem with the 401K Plan and you can afford it, by all means that is also a good idea.

Also...

As a side note, make sure if you are enrolled in the FSA medical account that they are taking them out too. They waited for almost 6 months before they started, I never noticed, and I had to pay double each week till the end of the year.....
 
Ahhh I think I may have missed something here.
Now there are 2 plans ?
We had to re enroll ?
This company is going to be the death of me.
Every time I turn around it's a new ins plan , 401K , ect , damn it !

Yep.
I thought that since we were still in this automatic enroll plan
that you had to opt out if you did not want to be a part of the 401K Plan, that Vanguard would just roll our OLD plan into this new FedEx Freight Plan #094052.
When I called Vanguard this morning after talking to payroll in HRO, I was told that any money and investments in the OLD plan would stay intact and would be running separate from the new one.

I think River is talking about the west people coming in to the 401k plan that we are already in, in the east. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
 
we have to re enrole in the west - sucks but its a benny and i will take it,there are folks that lost there bennys and steady income in santa clara I heard today - good luck to them I hope they find somthing good if not better for there familys

You are correct.
Seems like just NOW, I found this huge envelope from Vanguard in my stack of "stuff".
We in the west were part of FedEx Ground and Freight Retirement Savings Plan. Going forward we have to join and enroll in the FedEx Freight East Retirement Savings Plan
(094052).
So the former east folks are cool if they had their contribution taken out this last paycheck.
What all this info does not explain is if FedEx Corporation and FedEx Office and FedEx Puerto Rico also join the East plan or get to keep their old plan.
I thought we were all going to just join a FedEx Freight Inc. plan and not the FedEx Freight East plan.
I thought we weren't going to have an east or west anymore and that it was going to be just FedEx Freight Inc. period.
Oh well, press on.

No, there is only going to be 1 FEDEX freight, I was just saying that you guys are joining or re enrolling in the 401K plan that we are already in, because we don't have to re enroll. Were already in.
 
Thanks for mentioning it, I got big envelope in the mail but didn't pay much attention. I totally missed the reenrollment fact.
 
I got my big envelope 8 days AFTER the cutoff date. Good planning on somebody's part. Besides, as I understand it, there were only 2 business days that were available to call in to enroll. I just love the communication around here.

No wonder my checks were so large,went onto the Vanguard website & added my new Pre Tax Deduction

Good deal.
I think everyone should at least put in 7% pre-tax, and preferably 15% if they want to retire in confort.
I hope all the SCM and OM in the West will remind their crews to look at the Vanguard big envelope that was sent way too late in the mail, and have everyone enroll if 401K money contribution was not taken out of last paycheck.

I just now logged on to the Vanguard website to check if they had enrolled me from when I talked to Vanguard over the phone Monday 1/12/09.
Sure enough they had added the FedEx Freight East part,
but I still had to enroll myself personally again.
So I would recommend everyone to log on to see if they still need to enroll or not.

FSA good but holding off on 401k.Dollar on the Virge of collapse.I think there going to try and come up with a Global economy and currency.Look into it i have the media won't touch it.I truly think GOD is on his way back.Don't believe me Google peter schiff and Gerald Celente.

I did this on the computer. Do I have to dig out the big envelope and re-enroll using that?

Wouldn't surprise me. "Here, do it this way. Great! Now do it again this way! Wonderful!"
