Their is a first for anything. ABF is very conservitive and don't usually jump into something at this level without a lot of thought, so I would have to say they have a very good
case. I wish them the best and will support them.

What is it exactly that you teamster ABF employee's want to see,if YRC is forced to go back to full wages and benefits they will shut down immediately(no cash to operate)and there goes 25,000 more teamster jobs in freight.Guess what,ABF will still be the highest cost trucking company out there.

You really need to look at upper management's reason for filing this lawsuit (they could care less about YRC) what they want is concessions from their employee's that you won't give them.

actually what they probably want is their own contract and out of the NMFA..they want a UPSF deal....
do you really believe they are going into this thinking the courts are going to go.. ok ABF we will help you shut down this company and force 30,000 people outta jobs?... not in this job market
i also dont think they are going into it believing they will be able to force us into the same deal.. would'nt work.. the courts would send them packing telling them to go to their contracted workers and get a vote...
naa they are going into this completely full steam ahead with the opportunity to have the courts grant them the option of calling this contract VOID based on the involvement from the union creating an eased financial situation for the other parties in the contract... therefore opening the door for them to opt out early and negotiate a stand alone deal and chancing getting out of the pension fund all together... these people are thinking 3 steps ahead of everyone..

Plain & simple they want out of the pension. They dont care about paying full rate its all about the pension. And i think in 2 years upsf will be the highest paid. I for one dont want to see anybody from yrc lose their job but they are pulling everyone else backwards.

YEP!, I think you are the winner, This is just what they want ( ABF), They just might get something, No money in the suit, that will be dismissed, as givebacks have been going on since the early 80's. ABF wants something and its very smart, they will get something to make this go away and it will not be in the best interest of the workers.
