Back in the early 90's when i started in the freight industry, i was told to go union. The pay was much better ,there was a pension to retire on comfortably, the working conditions were better, a grievance proceedure for when you were wronged and so on. Go out and tell the nons how much better the Teamsters have it !!! NOW i'm on the trucking boards reading how FREIGHT TEAMSTERS are telling other FREIGHT TEAMSTERS how stupid they are at A.B.F. for not voting a wage concession. They voted for two wage reductions ,no pension contributions and work rule changes and the company is still losing money.It used to be ,come up to the Teamster level, now it's come down to the Teamster level. WOW !! Anyone that votes no just plain hates the company and should just quit !! Are you people serious? I get a headache reading these people posting nonsense !!!!
 
Maybe they are paying for big houses, many would take another cut. They say $18.00 ahour is good crazy. All they do is say there is nothing else out there. They must feel safe in there seniority from not being laid off and hang on. They beleive there not going anywere and will be #1 again. If working for free maybe so?

Sorry but I don't believe taking pay cuts and kissing the pension goodbye while company CEO takes $120,000 paycheck home EVERY WEEK is the right thing to do. Not to mention the multi-million dollar retirement gift he has on tap. Now if company CEO worked for free, or much less that would be a good start.
 
This is a great forum for drivers to keep up on whats going on in the industry and companies. I try not to bow down to some of the posters that just want to cause trouble also. But sometimes it gets the best of me. I think things are getting to a level that all drivers are really going to have to stick together. These companies will have us working for $14.00 an hour while they rake in more and more. We have a dangerous job. It deserves top wages. Maybe one day we will see this country shut down with a trucker strike. Make people realize how important truckers really are. When they don't have food or gas. Everyday will be driver appreciation day.

Yup, this so called UNION BROTHERHOOD is dead. Has been dead, hell probably never even existed. Its to the point now, I just sit here, read, and laugh my ass off. I've been saying brotherhood has been dead for awhile, and now we're seeing it. The Teamsters and unions have been their own worst enemy. But as usual they'll blame CEO's, Republicans or whoever, but never themselves.

Keep on dreaming. You can't get 3 truckers to agree on anything at a truck stop, and you think millions of truckers will all of sudden get together and shut down? Ya right. Like I said........KEEP DREAMING!!!

Well, I've not seen it this bad before either. Who knows what is in store for us. This may be the year for dreaming.

Probably don't have ANY friends..and it shows because no one likes you here either.
This is the only place you can talk..with the hopes that someone will listen...where in real life no one would.

Ya, you know such of me from my post here. Fact is, I and others see all these so called union brothers calling each other names and telling each other to go to hell because they didn't vote they supposedly should have. Union Brotherhood is a myth. I have seen in it at my personal Barn and other barns as well as these forums.
