When American Freight was purchased by Fed Ex it was all branded in no time at all, when was the last time you saw an Amerinan Freight Truck or Trailer? CCX changed to Conway it was done the same way, you don't see CCX equipment on the road do you? Why are we still driven Overnite trucks and trailers and not to mention Motor Cargo junk, its been 5-6 years. But make sure you wear that Brown Clothing with the UPS Logo and don't forget to shine your shoes, look sharp. But we still drive some pretty ruff not to mention dirty EQUIPMENT. But I did see UPS just got 450 new Macks. 0 for UPS FREIGHT. Thanks UPS for being PROUD OF YOUR FREIGHT COMPANY!!!

DING DING DING!!!!! Give this gentleman a prize, he hit the nail right on the head....
I was just thinking that same thing the other day. I have seen CCX tractors and trailers in my area, but let me tell you, it's not very often at all, very rare.

I was also thinking, how long it will take FED EX to change all their National LTL badging to just the freight badging. I remember them not taking very long to change from Watkins to Nat'l LTL.
I find it funny how how UPS is always so worried about "Brand Image" and like you said, we are still pulling around Motor Cargo/Overnite equipment. I generally drive a new International and yet still pulling around a 49 series Overnite trailer with the oxidized aluminum silver sides and rusted out ICC bar. Disgusting isn't it?

But I was also thinking, maybe they're just using any profits from just the freight side for upgrades instead of using package funds, which would make sense I guess, but when they keep posting profits from freight and we are not seeing any new equipment except a few new tractors every couple years, makes me think they are just taking the profits and running with 'em. Again would make sense, it's their company, they can do what they want and they will, but atleast wait till you have rebranded all the equipment before you do that.

It's pretty bad when I go to a customer and the door is rusted to where the door barley opens or door panels are rotted out and holes in the floor and I have to make a joke to them about it. I'll usually say in a very sarcastic joking matter: "Yeah UPS pays us so much money they can't afford better equipment." I get a laugh out of that one. Or I'll say "A multi billion dollar a QUARTER company, and they can't afford to give us better trailers."

Thanks, for my prize I'll take a rainy day so it will wash my truck. Thats the only time they wash them. 6 years and not 1 wash job yet. I'am Proud. Lets get with it UPS and get us branded so we look good and be proud of are image.

I'll take my pension, higher salary ,OT and benefits over a re-branded truck any day.:guiness:

Dont complain i will keep driving my piece of crap tractor and trailer with scrathes and dents all over that way if something happens to it i cant even tell whats new or old. God forbid you go wash it and then youre stealing time. Maybe they are smarter than we give them credit for. Im with you guys, lets use the money else where. Its like a millionaire driving a old beater and another guy in debt to his eyeballs driving a high payment nice vehicle. Who would you want to be?

I still see a bunch of CCX mixes, some FedEx Red tractors, even YRC is mixed.

I will cry the day we match.
I'm so used to driving circus equipment that have been battered by mother natures fury.
Our rental 53' trailers cost more than the fair market value of our rotten tractors.

City disp and I used to say we are the red headed step child of ups. Upper management said we never make enough money.

Well I must admit, except for that brick called a seat I like my Volvo....alot..{:-)

I dont mind having a truck that can barely go 25 mph up a hill, with 10,000lbs in a long box....more money when truck breaks down, and how long it takes to run this great truck up small hills, and not able to get all the way to the speed limit...good trailers, but old trucks that run as well as they can...

I hope they look into upgrading the way the freight is loaded and handled,...I like the looks of conways new load bar system,...

Maybe if we could take care of the freight we would make more money and get new equipment??

their safe stack system is much then the deck trailers upsf has. you dont have to carry bars in and out of the trailers, and when your done with the bar it just goes back up the track to the ceiling. if one gets damaged its easy to swap it out.

Did you ever notice that their tractors and trailers matched?? FedEx and American Freight had white and red... All they needed to do with the vehicles is replace the stickers. The same with Conway.. Sticker replacement...

With us.. Blue, Gray, White and aluminum... There is a lot of work to be done with us just to be rebranded to the UPS colors. :Poke:

Not only is it nice that the pay checks keep coming, but we (UPSF) did not take any cut backs with wages & benefits like most other ltl carriers did during this recession. As Leo once said......in time we will have the best equipment............lol
