My dad wasnt stupid enough to become a truck driver [like his son] he was a Electrical engineer and if would have been smart and listened to him i would have choosen something other than this miserable way to make a living.

Back then

Granddad and Uncle drove for Mason Dixon. Both are gone now and so is Mason Dixon Line. Both earned a good living and enjoyed a good pension and health care for their efforts. Not such a bad life.

My dad was an accountant....worked mon thru fri, 8 to 5, had a home life, was ALWAYS there for me and my brother and sister, went to All my sports games, taught me to play golf (most frustrating thing I have ever tried to do but can't quit trying), took us to church and taught me how to be a man.....my father -in law drove for Akers......me, I wanted to be a truck driver since I was little...now I are one!

My dad starting driving at Norwalk Truck Line in Toledo down on City Park (I saw the other thread on Norwalk Truck Line's reunion). Worked there a year and got fired for taking my neighbor with him on a run. Went across the street to Duff Truck Line and worked there the next 40 years.

I was told that I might have to find you in a cemetary or a nursing home. You are still an NTL driver. Most guys who are at the Norwalk picnic did not retire at NTL...Yellow bought them. You are more invited to the picnic than I am!!! Oh and I see you can type on a computer!!! :smilie_132:
