This is it in a nutshell.
I would like to know where the moron got his information to claim the ltl division drivers of Conway "are more qualified",based on what?
Calling someone a "moron" in your first post, is probably a bit strong.
In any case, welcome to the boards Ace....
CFI bids on these loads just like CRST, England or who ever wants to pull these loads. If they are the best rate they haul the freight if not someone else will. Con-Way is CFI's largest customer it really on made good sense to buy them. If you look at all the major players in the LTL they all use sub-service. I hate it that it takes runs away from the LTL division. They still have large truckload customers they have to service so therefore they can only haul so many of the LTL loads.
That's it exactly! We are robbing Peter to keep Paul afloat.They are taking away good paying LTL linehaul jobs. Conway is basically cutting the throats of their dedicated and hard working L/H drivers. This reminds me of the food companys that outsourced manufacturing to Chinese companys, only to have their good name tarnished due to lack of quality control.
The old saying " you get what you pay for " still holds true.:smilie_132:
Here's a question;
Prior to our purchase of CFI, where you thinking about how we should buy a large T/L carrier? "Yes, this is something we need". Am sure you took into consideration Conway's failed history with T/L and that we had an operating T/L company at the time.
Is it a good it a good idea now because our leaders tell us it's a good idea? - Even though they did not reveal their intentions for CFI's use in our LTL ops?........Oh, they must not have NOT known.
This company was not started on what we did yesterday. It was started on what was NEEDED tomorrow. That forward thinking of 1980 got us to today with a very profitable company. Now what is NEEDED in forward thinking to get us to the next 20 year benchmark and the hopes of profitability? Being we are in the freight business, not the LTL business anymore, how do you profit from this industry? By having a company that is 100% capable of handling a customer's product from the shipper's dock to the consignee's dock. So that's logistics, warehousing, fulfillment, container, truckload, and LTL all with an international reach.
Conspiracism is like an airborne infectious disease... just try not to inhale around others infected
if truckload is doing so well then take conways ltl away or better yet, let them do all the Pand D and all the dock work let them put in 70 hours a week dont forget they also get the spring ride trucks no more air ride sleeper trucks,half *** heaters,a/c and no there dogs and spouses cant go either,lets not forget no smoking in the trucks,and when there late barring a breakdown sign here truckdriver 3 and your gone hmmm really now get out on the dock and go to work what well im kinda tired,hey were did our truckload dock help go look in the breakroom,or in there truck i think i seen one walking there dog what no dogs allowed,well thats what we got to replace our LTL drivers with so we have make due we better get on a lift ourself will never get done im outa here wait for me.
damn man stop and take a breath,,,,,,,
I'm starting to feel that headache coming on...
i agree he said alot, but he's right you know, instead of mocking him try to understand our frustration with what you said earlier.
T/L drivers are to LTL drivers what..... are to .......
someone complete my sentence.
