What to do now. Two days after the big change of ops and nothing to do at YRC Jackson Ms. I bid a sleeper bid to Florida with no departure time no guarantees and as it seems no work. We work a wheel board first in first out. I see changes in the near future or most of us will be broke.

They have had the startup issues at all the gainers from what I've seen/heard. Keep the faith and be patient.

Start up My butt they have been running sleepers for years to Florida no start up it's all management Yellow can't find their butt with both hands. First why would you run a wheel board? Answer because you can't coordinate or dispatch. Why would you have a bid run with no assigned departure time. Answer is the same. I gave them five years before they went belly up now I'll give them a year and I'm being generous.

You're crying cause you had to sit for two days? Wow. I just got done sitting two and a half weeks before I got out this weekend. From what I saw the Yellow terminals are in a state of confusion as they try to adapt to the new computer system. I saw this at both CVE and CGB. I also went to three Roadway barns and things are running smoothly. In a week or two everything should be running smoothly.

thats all well and fine but why would a company run like this let roadway take over and lets work the stock price is now 1.96 if we wait much longer there won't be a company to go to

Don't know lori !!

who's Lori
Someone said that Lori was probally pulling her hair out in Jackson. Don't know Lori myself. She can take a number on pulling her hair out. Nitewolf, would'nt you agree they are all pulling their hair out in Jackson. Good luck Wolfie see you in our new state of confusion. :duh:

bc it was less $ to do it on R's system, than bring R up to speed on Y system. In short cheaper. YRC is very much in survival mode right now, saving short $ is better now than planning long $ savings.

Well finally got ou after 56 hours at home to run 903 miles and goto bed imagine that putting a sleeper team to bed cause they uave no freight going to br a good paycheck this week. I do gave to say they were knocking themselves out to try to get things working over there. Seems like the hang ups at over terminal like Dallas is hanging the rest of us out to dry. Didn't have a provlem getting the temporary housing check so there is one tgung going right just momma could use that to pay the bills

well here we are in week number two things are slightly better. We are working although the sleepers still aren't turning at the window but that seems to be due to a lack of freight and too many sleeper bids. We have asked that the sleeper bids be reduced but it semms as we are talking to the wall.

I'm out of Chicago Hights Il. Teminal 309 and still waiting for that work call. I talked to someone there and they sead they were very BZ. Bing off for a week and a half.

To the rescue ?

 When we came in today there was a message on the board if any of the sleeper teams want to go back to the extra-board they can. Then on the 15th they are cutting 10 of the teams. (DUE TO FREIGHT VOLUMES). Imagine that. I hate to see that because the bulk of the sleepers are old 457 drivers. I guess we had a god idea while it lasted.

Are they cutting teams everywhere or where are they cutting them from? I would think in this long a time they would have the computers figured out. Heck, a 2 year old can do computers now days.

Well truth be told all sleeper runs out of Jackson should be cut and run the relay to Valdosta and Jacksonville. Then let the drivers down there run the freight to Florida. Thats how we did it for Roadway and it worked perfect but for some reason Yellow don't want the drivers to have more than 450 miles a day it seems like they don't want to run freight. They now have drivers that are used to running 3100 miles a week working there and we are going crazy sitting at the house. It would save the the fueling charge of the sleepers and believe it or not the freight would get there just as fast but I'm just a stupid trucker.

I agree totally. I don't know why they have these runs so short. A friend of mine went to Macon, GA on this merger. He was supposed to run 500+ miles on a turn to Charlotte. This week they changed it up, and he is running a laydown to Charlotte. (8hr guarantee) I don't get it either. You would think with the amount of health and welfare they pay per driver they would utilize them more wisely.

What are yall doing to our UE's over there? :Bondage: Got one that love's it, and one that hate's it. Now, the one that love's it, came from the city, and the other bid in from the road. That may be the differance, idunno.

I don't know if this will help to explain the situation, but it is what was explained to me (by the ATM YRC Valdosta dock 705).......There is no more Yellow. There is no more Roadway. "The old way of doing things has to be forgotten" (his words exactly) We are now operating with a new network and they are changing things DAILY!

For example: we had Texas destination freight coming in coded for Jackson 455, but we all knew freight going to Dallas-Fort Worth, for example, should go to Dallas 509, right? Well, wrong. It was supposed to go to Jackson all along and Jackson was going to direct load points in Texas. But we didn't know this since we were a Roadway facility, operating with a different network. :duh:

We all have to learn a new "network"! And, the big boys need to get this stuff straightened PDQ!
