What is going on at Wilson? Don't hear much about their profitability for 2008. What was the final O.R.? Are they doing anything to different?

Were getting gold plated door handles on our trucks this summer, the goldsmith will start delivering in late July :biglaugh: J/k I have no idea how were doing in that department...ill leave that to others since i cant balance my own checkbook :duh:

We are a "Private Owned " company , that is why you don't hear about our profit margins. If we were public it would be every were . From what I hear from the few people i know "in the know" Wilson is staying above water and doing good .I for one Thank God for answering prayers about that.

You're correct...both losing money

Wilson, like most other LTL companies, recently took steps never seen within the company history,to improve its OR.Tough decisions were made to ensure the survival of our company, just like about every other LTL out there.
Comparing us to certain other LTL,s is like comparing apples to oranges, however bigger isn't always better.

You're correct...both losing money

times are tuff for us all ,some things Wilson did was tuff on the supers plus the employees both , i myself am glade Wilson had the for knowledge to make some decisions before we got in the bad shape other companies have , i am confident that Wilson will be around for along time to come

Yes maybe they are losing money, most people in trucking are losing money, but they are not losing money on money owed. Alot of companies are losing money on debt that they owe to my knowledge Wilson is one of the few companies that operates in the black or if you don't understand that, it means very simply they pay their debt with real money, their money.
I don't work for them but I have had business with them thru Watkins and Pitt Ohio and you cannot find any better people in the LTL area.

Thank you for the kind words . You are right we are Debt Free , Our Terminals and Equipment are all paid for and we don't have to borrow money to operate on .

I am amazed at the people that want to:stirthepot:. There are several companies that are debt free, but may still be losing money. They can afford to because they don't have big loan repayments. Others have large debt, mostly due to aquasitions, No this is not a slam to these co's, and they are also losing money. The debt free companies will most likely come out of this in good shape.:woot: The others will strugle but hopefully survive. I am thankfull to be where I am (sefl) and have no desire to go elsewhere, and I feel confident you guy's feel the same about wilson. My point is why come on here to aggitate these guy's about numbers that no one really knows, and for that matter are down due to bad economy. We are in the midst of a recession. Good luck guys, keep truckin. :smilie_132:

Very well said:clap:

in my opinion SEFL, Wilson and all the other privately held companies are going to be alot stronger than the publicly help companies like YRC etc....

what gets me is these guys come from these other forums and bash another trucking company, but i guarantee you if he lost his job with the company he works for. he wld change his attitude.
