TForce | Upsf/ups air??

Anyone hear any talk about UPS Air freight sharing the NBR terminal with UPSF? About 40 doors from what I heard.
there was talk last week about ups truck load sharing NBR dock, seperating the dock because there non union, thats what a driver told me who works
the hub there,

..I see a solid white large car with the ups Logo pulling a van on the boulevard..wonder if this is the same bunch? I tell ya this this bunch ain't playing...the trailers are welded to the dock, tires removed from the rims and the rims welded to steel I beams...and we are being told that area will be off limits when finshed...dang near 20 doors...I see this is going to be one cluster .... when the the mini-hub is running....we have been cramped for years....progress I guess...

I also have seen quite a few of the white sleeper large cars with the ups logo pulling vans. I always thought they were truck load services. I also have seen a white day cab with the ups logo pulling a ups van pulling into the parcel yard.

It use to be emery air freight, then UPS bought the company and called it air cartage or somthing like that, they will pick up a whole pallet and fly it to where it needs to go.

there trucks look like this:

there all liftgates.

Guys... GVL was the test terminal to have the airfreight division move in under our roof... YES they are union here.. and I will tell you this, even though we lost maybe 30 doors of our barn, ALL the drivers and their management people are a pleasure to have. They are freindly, helpful..etc
With the extra security involved with airfreight we have alot stricter rules on the yard and facility.. but I assure you this is a plus for the company and a HUGE money saver havong us all under one roof...
Welcome them and you might be pleasantly surprised

The website now "air freight" listed under the freight side

UPS Freight Services

Does airfreight operate seperatly from package?

Airfreight does operate seperatly from package, we have an airport next to our terminal, UPS has an airhub there, UPS airfreight ( Cartage services) comes from Portland maine, services the state of NH ( PU&D) , at the end of thier day some will travel to this airhub where the plane awaits to take the freight and fly it to it's destination. They drive back to Portland.

Supply Chain is the heavy air freight. They already share the Greenville,SC yard and will shortly share space here in CLT.They are union.

I'm just passing thru here , so say go and I'll be gone . But what I see is that there is the HEAVY Air Freight AND the regular UPS air that goes with the package car driver or a seperate AIR DRIVER. Here in Chicago, The Package/AIR driver is more often than not part time and or at a different rate of pay.The Cartage driver is under a different contract at even a different rate of pay.
Hope that helps

Nothing wrong with adding to the discussion welcome and be safe. The cartage guy's in Portland Me. have the same contract as small package and there is ,I want to say, but do not quote, 20-25 drivers Fulltime union.

This division is seprate from small package and yes there is small package air, which is different from "AIRFREIGHT".

SCS has a division called UPS Airfreight, or Cartage Services, which handles air freight. Neither small package air, or airfreight are affiliated in anyway except for brand recognition. UPS Airfreight was Emery Airfreight at one time, then changed to Menlo services, if I remember correctly, then bought from CNF by UPS and changed to Supply Chain Solutions ,Then Cartage Services , and now UPS Airfreight.

Pretty soon it seems they will be sharing terminals with UPS Freight, someone was telling me they combined UPS airfreight with UPSfreight on the website, maybe this is the future in the making.
