I can understand what a man has to do to provide for his family, but it drives me crazy when i learn of ex cf drivers working for conway.Dont know how any ex cfer could work for them knowing what they did to us.

about all you can say about that is he or she should know the equipment very well. its the same other than the junky sterlins they drive.

I hate to say it but I also drive for con-way now ,and once was with cf. But I needed to work and they had the work. House payment ,car payments ,kids, you know what I mean the money has to come from somewhere.just my thought.

Feeding your kids will always be more important than pride.

Know several ec-CF'ers and all are pretty good guys.

Don't you mean what your management did to you. We will survive these tough times because we're looking ahead and trying to respond before we are in the toilet , the opposite of CF management.:nutkick:

peon your to dumb to see your going down the same road. yeah there looking ahead for you they took your matching 401 from you now they in to your vac time. oh yeah your upper management there look after you. i can't wait till i see the tape all over your tractors. oh I'm sorry they doing that they dead line your new tractors. but you have you race truck. they took our name just maybe they can take some of our old freight liner tractors too. i know where some are.

I don't believe we are going down the same road. They changed the amount of our match back to 3% from 6%.The 3% was what it was when I hired on.They didn't take away any of our vacation , only now we accrue vacation time instead of getting all of it on January 1st as it has always been.I can live with that. The tractors were parked to save money on registration and insurance.Since the freight levels are down,we had too many trucks,so it only makes sense to use the older trucks until they are worn out.My terminal manager told me that they will be brought back on-line before the end of the year.As for my intelligence, I'm smart enough to know that I need to plan for the future and not rely solely on a pension or social security.I will be just fine.My first tractor here was a Freightliner cabover that was a CF truck repainted when Conway opened. Was a great truck, but I don't need another one.Our company has a contract with Roush-Fenway for the race truck that has already been paid for.Our President, Mr. Labrie, has said that if he had a crystal ball to see the future, he would not have signed a deal with them.Don't expect it on the track next year. Now that has been said, please learn about capitalization, punctuation and spell check, they will make your Veteran posts much easier to understand and follow.

if you don't like the way i do it stay up there on that sorry con-way site and stay off this cf site . i care very little for any of you. if you shut your doors today I'll be a very happy man. that's all you con-ways are good for is to come down here and start something here on this site. your day is a coming and i can't wait for it. i hope i get to see it. and that your :nutkick::nutkick:

I looked around this site and saw this post and felt I had the right to respond to your misinformation.I had many friends that worked at CF and I felt bad when they lost their jobs, but to blame that on Conway, which was a completely separate entity is just preposterous.I wanted to set the record straight, but when false info is spread around enough , people start to believe it.I would never wish any ill will to any driver, regardless of their company name or representation. That being said, I will retract my nut-kick and apologize for it.If my company goes under, I will be just fine and if we survive, I will put in another 12 to make 33 years and I'm out of here.Best wishes to you and yours in these tough times.Going back to my site.

preposterous were you around in 1983 the year cf started con-way i was i watch them take the money they got for selling freight liner..a completely separate entity not for the first 15years of there life cf pay every bill you had from a//z you name they pay it.as for false info the shoes are on your feet now just wondering how do they feel a little tight i bet . and i myself will retract my nut-kick to you and apologize for it to you. you said you need 12 years to get 33 years so add 12 year to me and I'd had 45 years. so if i do my math right i had 12 years at cf before you every started so i just might know a little more about cf// con-way than you do. best wishes to you and yours but not your company in these tough times and I'll stay at this site. like in the movie Rudy no one but on comes to this site and runs cf down if you didn't work for them .

:hide: Seems to me, you have broken several Truckingboards rules. Guess the Mods don't care about this site.
Hope you are doing well, and some day get over your bitterness towards your former companys management team.:smilie_132:

The teamsters wil give Con Way the same job sevurity that they gace APA, Red Star, CF, McLean and the hunderds of other teamster LTL jobs.
Go ahead, I'll watch Con Way go down the tubes with YRC and the remaining teamster LTL jobs.

History proves that teamster LTl jobs never last.

I started in freight in 1983 and i feel your pain brother. I worked for St Johnsbury, Red Star and now UPS Freight. The best thing we can do is to befreind our fellow freight workers and get them organized. It is the only way to bring back the middle class in the freight industry and not let all of the jobs we lost be in vain.:smilie_132:

At one time i did not believe this. But, with recent events i often wonder how true this might be.
