got a question for somebody a reddaway. last night here in hbg, pa npme terminal, we received two loads of freight from reddaway. both loads did come on a 53' with roadway on the box,no big deal there, really. but the strange thing was that an outside carrier was bringing them in from the hbg pa. rail yard. now we always sold our west coast freight as being a 1-2 days quicker than any other ltl. that sure ain't happening if your sending freight to us on the rail. anybody out there no when that started and why?

both loads left CLACKAMAS,OR.loaded on 11-10-10.shipped from railyard on the 11-11-10. we got late at night on the 11-16-10, not worked till the 17th. so probably delivered in the northeast 11=18=10. i think even YRC could get freight across country in 8 days. i don't think your linehaul boss deals with interline freight, and the shipping of it, but who knows any more.

All I can do is shake my head and drink another beer. You know someone, somewhere was in a meeting and said, "Hey, lets put a couple trailers on the rail and see how they do, that might save us some money!"

Thanks for the specs on that load allnight, it really helped.
My linehaul boss knows about every bill that moves into, out of, or within our system.
It funny that the records still show Clackamas as a terminal, cause we've been relegated to the old S-hole that wasn't even good enough for YRC in Sep of last year.
Something fishy? I don't know.
But anyways, linehaul boss says that service time from Redd to NP is 5 business days. This does not count Sat/Sun.
So anything that doesn't ship on Monday, they can rail, save money, and still "make service."
Talk about nipping away at every dime left....
Signs of desperation, ho hum

on the reddaway bill of lading, it claims 58.4 hours run time. i assume that ment on the rail. the rail had the trailers 5-6 days or 144-120 hrs. so far we still use glennmoore to ship to you on the west coast. so far npme hasn't ever delt with the railroads in our business, other than outside carrier bring in a load for us to service. i guess if your customers are happy with the service and price who cares how long it takes, right. from what i found out this is something new on your part shipping to us,the rail that is. sorry i said your line haul boss won't know what i'm talking about, that was stupid statement on my part. i just figured YRC was screwing up something that has worked between our two companys for several years now.

Something on all those co-bills say 60 hour standard.
The system did work fine, so of course, we're YRC, there's got to be a way we can screw that up.
Our new motto........."if we can't poke it, we won't ship it!"
