Yellow | Rumor or Fact? You be the judge.

Is SAIA out of the fold, I do not recall Yellow selling them off, just spun them from the now YRC umbrella. I been caught blind-sided by all this garbage that YRC is pulling and have not kept up with our SCS(if SAIA still trades under these letters) sister company. I just hope this YRC melee wasn't to throw us off of the bridge as was the case with CF while upper mgmt pulls out the Golden parachute and we find out that we are still financing SAIA. No offense to any body just my curiousity getting the best of me. I'm coming to (at) the conclusion that this is accually intentional by the YRC Board and CEO to be done with the Union and to wallow in their Greed as the AIG/ENRON boys did before they dropped dead or commited *******, This YRC CO. is operating in the most assinine business manner I have ever seen(I worked for both Yellow and BIG'R') and never seen either one of these Companys operate in the self-destruction manner as they are in these days. I,m not trying to be Doom and Gloom it's just not right the way we are doing business nowadays. And yes I realize the economy is in the crapper. Peace
SAIA is no longer under the YRC unbrella. They are now a stand alone co.

Here's one i heard the other day. I have been laid off since october of 08 and have been shiny wheeling since then but i do manage to stay in touch with some of my buds at YRC in STL. Heard this one last week that since YRC got the 10% give back that YRC has been able to scratch up enough money to sponsor a pro golfer. Is this true? If so I would like to send out a big ATTA BOY!!! to YRC upper management, Everyone knows how hard tese pro golfers have it especially in these trying economic times. It only makes sense that a benevolent CO. like YRC should step up to the plate and help some poor under privileged giolfer pro achieve his dream. I mean rally I personally am thrilled to the gills that I was able to be part of the sacrifice that enabled the co. to act in such a philanthropic manner.NOT!!!!!

Would like to know if anyone has heard this at STL. Just heard through the grapevine that old PumpHandle has been issued his walking papers any one else in STL heard this one yet?:nutkick::clap:

YRC was a proud sponsor of the golf man long before the giveback!! To the tune of 6 million if I remember right!

I figured as much Shoeman but i think before they came to the works with they're hand out they should have pulled they're name off his golf bag first. Know what I mean? This is truly a slap in the face to all the people who have to get up and go to work at YRC everyday just to make ends meet.

YRC Concessions....?

any truth that they want overtime after 40 hrs..and all employees get 2 weeks vacation regardless of how many yrs you have? and taking away all sickdays?

They can want anything, and there is most likly O truth to that. However do you think anyone would vote on that with a pension deferral?. Your first post makes me think you waited to stirshit

No its after 80 hours, pay back all your sick days you ever got and all vacation time gos to zollars.and your pension gos to the obama kids.

How the hell do this crap start when nothing has come out of the meetings? Would love to have a look at the crystal ball these guys are using!

i still see people using the term Defferal, however according to the TDU site it is now a temporary termination.

"Temporary termination is slightly different from the pension deferral plan initially offered by the union; in this proposal, there would be no obligation on the part of YRC to repay the missing contributions. Teamsters would not accrue pension credit during that period."

All speculation, buy the stock, kick back, in a few weeks enjoy the rewards. This thing is long from being over.
And
When this employee free choice act gets resolved, everything will be in an upswing what ever the outcome.

Some people refuse to see the writing on the wall or notice the elephant (massive debt!) sitting in the corner and think everything will turn out just rosy when the truth is that YRC will not and can not survive in it's present form. Heck, the stock took a 30% hit at the opening this morning and is now trading at $1.08, an all time low up from the opening low of $0.96. If that doesn't raise a red flag to everyone something is very wrong.
