Yellow | Post your lowest road man in the South

It looks like you're going to have a tough time getting the information in this forum.

If you can't get the info by calling around, then the worst case scenario is to drive to the terminals you are wondering about, look at the seniority lists, and talk to some drivers.

In 2005, I was working at a terminal in Southern California. I drove 1000 miles one way to check out the Portland terminal--just to start over as a casual. Within 10 minutes, I had seen the seniority list and talked to a steward who told me what to expect.

I guess it just depends on how bad you want it!

Hey Truck.....just giggles you should come up here personally.....(hahahaha) to our BA in Chicago (AHhahhaaha) and POLITLY ask if you could bump in....:biglaugh:.......if you can get past our.....:biglaugh:......_____.........:biglaugh: Just see what kind of response you...:biglaugh: might get....HAHAHHAAHHAHAHAH.....

I have no problem with SMS. I have a problem with someone trying to use the Forum for their own use. If he wants to do the leg work the way everyone else does and move somewhere, more power to him. If anyone else wants to, go for it. What I take issue with is him trying to actively use TB to destroy families. He has posted in at least three and I believe five separate threads in the past few months, trying to stir up this issue because he is unhappy that others below him are working. We have always celebrated the use of TB to positively affect the lives of users, not destroy them. He is so incensed someone laid him off, that he keeps dragging it up over and over within the threads he has started, trying to enlist others in his crusade to screw everyone else on the bottom at all Southern terminals.

I've said it many times before. I donate my time on TB to help Brother Teamsters, it should not be a surprise I take issue with his multiple and ongoing attempts to shaft them. It is not specifically against the rules however, all I can do is express my opinion. Let your conscience be your guide.

Truckinusa you are doing nothing wrong at all! You are playing with the cards that you have been dealt with and by the rules that have been set up for you. Vwaggs if you don't like those rules that were set up before you moved south, perhaps you should not have moved there. Southern Modified is nothing new to those Teamsters that have been around it a while, and therefor they know the possibilities that can happen with all these layoffs.

He has a valid point........southern modified would not be my cup of tea.....however trying to better his situation by trying to get the info doesn't make him a bad person....If they don't give him that info how is he suppose to get it? If they don't help him out who is he going to complain to and that will listen?.....no one.....Is he suppose to drive from terminal to terminal asking?Say what you want senority rules whether anyone likes it or not

He can the time to call the TM at any terminal in the southern region and ask hime where he would be....that is the rule....try it....KK

I tried the calling the terminal manager thing. Its working out ok. It is surprising how few people are working now. Terminals with 3 road drivers are getting by with just 1. I wonder what will happen when they shuffle the deck again with another COO?

I guess that is why no else but the southern conference does this because it does cause such hate and discontent.....I mean I would hate to put time in to build up accounts and do the right thing and then poof a guy can bump in.....I know I said senority rules......I think if a guy did that and I was on the bubble so to speak and then ended up sitting at home I would be pissed off to no end myself.

Same thing that's been happening......we look up to see the guillotine blade coming down.......(see above link.)

When they did the change for the utility thing last year, I saw the Atlanta list had a guy on there that was born in 1918 and started at Yellow in 1948?? I wonder if this guy is or was still working at 90 years old?? He started at Yellow 5 years after my father was born!! He can't still be going.......

I'm glad he's not my Sleeper Partner! Can you imagine trying to sleep back there? :biglaugh: ZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzz:TR10driving03:

Speaking as a brother that has been bumped off due to SM just because you can do something does not mean you should. It really sucks to know that I lost my job because the freight is slow somewhere else. All I can say is good luck to us all. God help us because the IBT sure won't.

I wish I could give you my seniority so you could work. It doesn't do me any good in Dallas and it doesn't do me much good is OKC from what I was told by the Terminal Manager.

Same here if I could give you mine and get you back on the board in Big D I would. I don't even have 2 years yet so it would not help much anyway.

why are you so eager to bump in somewhere else when you know the end is so near ? What sense is there in moving just to be unemployed and in an area you would not be familiar with and have no friends to rely on. Not exactly usin' the ol' noodle bud !
