XPO | Jr Man Opinion

I had to take off all 12 weeks to heal, but no more. To clarify the situation, I had a 3:00 dock bid, and am now being told it has changed to 4:00. I start at 5:00 everyday because they say there isn't enough freight at that time, but there is always enough freight after 3:00. Anyways they have a guy that is my junior by 3 years, starting at 3:00 doing a certain account on the dock breaking freight everyday. He gets his 8 hrs everyday and I am only working 6 1/2 hrs at the most because they want us outbound guys off of the dock by midnight.

I just think that they should have moved me in that spot since I had the 3:00 dock bid. I have talked to the ASCM about it, and he didn't want to work with me, he told me to suck it up. At our barn a lot of things happen like this. Guys getting pulled put of their position, only to be refilled by a guy with less strap. And now all of my hospitol bills are comming in, with no sign of being able to pay them, Sorry..... Just venting..

do have enough time to be a regular,,,,if not that has somethin to do swith it

I agree that this issue has more to do w/ your co-workers and less w/ seniority. It is a select few senior drivers that are complaining (at my barn) about their trucks and the rest of the senior drivers don't complain. At bid time it is their decision what truck to drive and which FAC to run. Do you want the new truck, or do you want the 500+ mile turn? Maybe the people complaining should bid the longest run they can while maintaining the newest truck possible. Don't take it out on a jr. driver because they are driving an 06 and you are in a 96, that is juvenile. I came from a job making nothing, so I would be more than happy to make that 500+ mile turn in a 480 tractor. I respect the sr. drivers (even the ones that like to complain) and hope that maybe someday I will get the same respect.

It is just that simple driver

:hide: JR. Man: Get over it! Your young years prove that you do not get it!
If you are my fellow employee, I will treat you with the same respect that was affored me in my younger years. NONE!
If, by chance, you show me that you are a stand up person,I :smilie_132::smilie_132: will show you the same respect that you show me.

senior cry babies

Just do what i do if they cry about there forklift tell them f*** off , besides what are they gonna do puch you and trow away 10-20 years of work i doubt it and if they do you still win

thats good advice too get you teeth knocked out by a junior driver what does he have to loose idiot 1-3 years of work unlike you having 10-20 years, id advise you senior drivers to give respect to get respect , more time driving or working means NOTHING to me if you disrespect me you will learn very quick to stay away from me or start respecting me as an equal , and let me tell you pal i've been here 3 years sure i had some matches with senior drivers my first year but i'll tell you not any more. the ones that don't respect me stay away from me and the ones that i had to teach i wasn't gonna take there S*** are now some of my friends:Flame-On:

Hey there Pilgrim... that attitude can get your daylights punched out by a senior driver. I know one that will give you the benefit of the doubt but if you show an attitude before one is shown to you...... well, it's what you get: lights out.

Don't be arrogant and you pretty much won't have to be treated by a senior man with disrespect. I don't know where you are located but just don't try that on my ol' man. He'll bend over to help you, if he's done loading his truck and has time to spare he'll help you. But don't get smart-mouth, he won't care how many years he has in....

One day when you've paid your dues and life is better money/seniority wise, then you'll see where the senior man is coming from.

Two sides to this:

Senior man has paid his dues and is to be respected as long as he's not a :eck13: about it. He has his retirement to work for, kids he's finishing paying college for and his health to worry about.

Other side is young man just getting started, has credit to build up, get the low end jobs until he works his way up, maybe a wife and a baby or two to feed. Needs to get his foot in the door of a good job.

Best for both to be respectful of the other.

If you're looking for trouble, you're going to find it. Better to be looking to respect others and have them respect you.
