I was just wondering if any of you guys on here ever had your own vehicle at your bed point on a laydown bid? I am really thinking about putting one at my bed point and was wanting to hear from someone with any and all advice. Please refrain from any anti-company and anti-union talk on here there areplenty of other threads on here for that. Thanks for all of your help in this matter.

I have been thinking of doing exactly that for some time. One of the thoughts I had was you better be good at saying no to many begging for rides. Charge for your taxi service.

I knew a guy that would do that. He would play sick and do things and go places he wanted to there.
Its nice when there is no bar at the motel. Go off-campus for a while to play! Get away from the "rats". Have the local lot-lizard drive you back to the motel to call in sick! Works for me!:biglaugh:

I knew a guy that used his opposite bid mans car when they were on the other end on layover, worked fine I guess as they did it for a long time.

I run a lay down to ATL. I gave the man running opposite of me keys to my car. He loves it and gasses it up every now and then (more than he burns). I can keep my tractor in ATL so I really don't need his vehicle, but in case I want to go to daytime Braves game, he has made same offer to me. Works good if 2 drivers can work together and not try to ::shit:: on one another.

when i was still dispatching at yellow cnc we had a couple with cars at laydown point. also lcp, cve & col bid coming into cnc there were a couple.

Did it for years. Nice to have a way to go eat and loafer around. The guy that had the car with me was also a long time friend so it was never a problem. 500.00 Geo, kept it in Nashville for years.
