Yellow | no work at 301 or 309

Sure wish we could get an actual seniority number...707,708 or 698 or WHAT? Errrrrrr.....I'm going with 707....(
 
I am working out of Chicago Ridge and have been sitting home since the 24th. I was hoping to get a call but no luck. I hate this sitting around with the phone up my *** all day. Can't get anything accomplished because I live in BFE and we get no cell reception so I have to stay close to the home phone. Does not make for a good time.
 
i dunno i just find it weird , i driving for someone at the moment till i can come back , but i took a load to the harrisburg area then to jersy then back towards chicago. i seen pleanty of our guys , abf,ups... along with about every other one having triples? maybe i didnt pay attention before but if you didnt tell me there a recession i would have maybe not belived it seeing alot of us rolling down that turnpike. i would imagine if there pulling triples in this economy it wouldint be an empty right?
 
Unless they are calling in everyone to work, it does not make sense that they are gaining 107 men. What do you mean? Is this a terminal or do you mean 107 men are coming back on?

supposed to be closing more terminals and drivers allowed to work at 301? maybe its just a rumor they just laid off 40 men

By the time got got into work at noon 01 May, they have revised the lay off to 25 men up to seniority of 722 or initials of J.D.P (JDP is last man working as per stew. B.E.) The seniority number might be off. I have an older list.
These are the new bids issued April 30 2009

If you already turned in a bid that closed on April 29 2009 you must submit a new bid all previous bids are null and void.
Tuesday 4/30/2009 Bids will be posted and bidding begins.

Wednesday 5/6/2009 1200 (NOON) - All bids must be time stamped & turned in. BID CLOSES.

Saturday 5/9/2009 TEAM WHEEL POSTED - Bidding begins with "Partner Selection"
forms to be completed only by the drivers who have successfully bid the
Team Wheel and picking a partner from the Team Wheel.

Friday 5/15/2009 1200 (NOON) - All "Partner Selection" forms must be time stamped &
turned in. PARTNER SELECTION CLOSES.

Saturday 5/16/2009 FINAL Team Bid posted with all paired teams shown & numbered.

Sunday 5/17/2009 0001 Hours- Bid in effect

inquiring minds would like to know......................is it term. 107 or did you hear 107 men????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
 
I heard 301 (CGB) may close and be consolidated with 309. The land value of 301 is high and an offer has been made. Further, 309 has a 200 door dock that is basically unused, they use a quarter of it for city freight, and the rest just sits, and 309 has a 60 acre parcel adjacent to it that they own and is undeveloped. So, technically, it could work.

The land that CBG/301 sits/floats on is an old garbage dump. In order to build on it the next owner would need to have the EPA come in and clean it up...I would think that would cost......well........alot. Who knows what they might find under there?????( oh! the horror) If I remember correctly the city land is owned by the local...........but.....your theory is good too. Just remember though, if It makes sense.....it ain't agonna happen.
 
Well, I just got my lay off notice in the mail this morning according to my wife. The letter states that I am laid off effective 5/3. I am still on my way in from a run, so I guess I am laid off & still working at the same time :biglaugh: :hysterical:
Hope things straighten out and I am called back soon.
