FedEx Freight | 5 days to get dock qualified.

Hey I work out of CGT and am very happy there. I can work the dock for extra hours grab a load off the hub run to the pad, etc... The supervisors are good to us and informative but I understand that we are earning a lot more so I deal with them when they are having a bad day. I say its' a big ocean grab a wave you will hit the beach

GOT MY MARCHING ORDERS FOR DOCK TRAINING.I do mine 1-10 thru 1-14 talk about cold,I havn/t heard but can only exspect that im only going to get payed 22.05 an hour.thats going to be 4to5 hundred less than my normal pay driving. 6:30am to 3:00pm.I don't think i'll ever see the dock in the next 12 yrs. of my driving with fedex not ever seeing it for the last 20 with watkins and fedex, dos'nt make any sence to waste there tjme or mine on this.

Is this at strait time or should I ask. It will be a great loss in pay for that week?Like Breeze said about 500 dollar loss. But its FedEx way or the highway. If they would let you pad your pay with a Vacation or personal day that would be great but I know I will get its not a DTO, you worked so I guess I'll wait to find out.Seems the drivers are the only people who get half of what they make on the hourly rate.

Sell your vacation or personal days. Or is National not allowed to do that!

I would think they would allow us to cash in some of are earned time to suppliment are paycheck,(earned) but to get better qualified to do a job at 500 dollars less for that week is not right, don"t get me wrong,I am a team player, but I do work here for an exspected paycheck,an to be more qualified to do a job at less pay is not anything close to reallity.what is happening to are world, has corp. USA gone globle,GOD help us all, anyone for tea!

National hasn't been allowed to to that unless you are off with a DTO. But the management can do it if they wanted to.But if it doesn't benefit them they don't care.

I guess you guys should get ready for some change that is good. You can use your vac or personal time anytime you want to. All you have to do is ask them to put in whatever amount of hours you want on that weeks check.

Yes the change will be great because its a circus over here. If its against you as a FedEx policy, there all over it to implement it over here. If its a plus for the employees we get oh thats a Freight policy not a National policy. Yet I get my dock training the 10th through the 14 of January here's the kicker,we loose our birthday pay as of Jan 1st and 8 hours of personnel time(40 to 32hrs more if you have less than 6 years. I think they go to 24 hrs personnel time a year)but the policy of pay for fuel, switch point and TOs, plus getting to pad my check with vacation and personnel will have to wait till Feb 1st.So our we Freight or National still as the 1st of Jan?I'll just take my beating and SIR MAY I HAVE ANOTHER ONE. Oh can't wait no Kiosk or stupid mandatory lunch break for line haul.

Yes lunch breaks are mandatory at freight. You have to log your beatings as "on duty not driving" clock in to education " people development " ....... 10-4

Now are lunch mandatory for line haul because 3 scm in the mid west visited us at the CCN yard two weeks ago and said they didn't know anything about lunch breaks for line haul. Just the city guys were required to take lunch. It wasn't a Freight policy.Or is it like National the rules only apply in certain areas of operations on how the SCM see fit.

You are correct. Linehaul is not required to take a lunch, only city drivers are! If you are working at a hub, you can choose to take a lunch, but not very many do. That just means you're going to be getting home 30 min later, but it's your choice?

My dock training is going to cost me $819.00, I am so happy about this. Makes me think I made the wrong choice. I know one thing for sure I will be glad when this is over, it's getting worse every day.

Well thank you for the clarification ! I'm a city dork so lunch breaks are the law.

Bill P has been writing us (LH drivers) up for not logging a 30 minute lunch for each tour of duty. So now is this the correct policy or not?

Bummer about not getting your regular road run pay, but bright side is at least your dock training is during the daytime when it's warmer. Those docks in Ohio without bumpers are cold at night.

You should ask Bill P where this is in the rules. The 4 different hubs I go to have never said anything about a lunch. Lunches are optional?

I take that cut every week since I came to this high paying, no hours/miles place
