It is true!!!....Dues Are Going Up!!! (According to the YRC Truckers I have talked to). (No increase in the deduction of dues in my pay check yet). It is a strong possibility since the media outlets are reporting this increase in our dues... Do we believe the Media? YRCW? or the Teamsters?:shift:

Teamster convention delegates approved a 25 percent dues increase-from two hours’ pay per month to 2.5 hours-at a one-day Special Convention April 30 in Las Vegas. Teamster President James Hoffa had argued for the dues hike in order to increase strike benefits, boost organizing, and help local unions, which will receive about half the new money.

Opponents of the Hoffa plan, including the reform caucus Teamsters for a Democratic Union (TDU), objected to the increase on two grounds: lack of a membership vote and lack of accountability on how the $130 million in new money will be spent. Income to the International will nearly double.
 
This is a load of crap!!!

I hope you Hoffa lovers are happy. Now we are going to pay 20% more after 10% less for all this great representation. Most of which they have slated for nothing. This means the coffers will have plenty for more of their own raises. Can you believe they actually want to tout its use for organizing!!! Who in their right mind would become a teamster when all they have done is roll over and play dead on the members they are supposed to represent!!!

Did you read how they kicked everyone out so they could vote in secret with no voiced opposition or visual record of who voted for it!!!
 
WE need to vote these idiots out. Hoffa is not for the working man but rather he must think the working man is for him.

I guess the dumbarses at the IBT are hurting for money because so many of those that they represent are on layoff and not paying dues. Of course, this allows them to make up for the money that they have lost and it also gives you a vision of the future for those on layoff...we must not be coming back anytime soon. I will admit that I voted for Hoffa last time however he will never receive my vote again. All of the Teamsters should rebel against this betrayal and demand that Hoffa resign.

...and the "special convention" was held right after the regular Teamsters Convention in June, 2001.........almost 8 years ago!?! :clap: DS.

A Nickle An Hour For Teamster Power?!

If I remember correctly, the campaign slogan by Hoffa and his cronies was..."A nickle an hour, for Teamster Power"! I don't see much power left in the Freight Division! I'm glad that Tyson and Jimmy are doing o.k. financially! That's all I care about~:ranting2:
