If you look in the USF board somebody posted saying that ABF bought USF. It was announced out east by a terminal manager.

Why would they buy them?

I think the Carolina deal will keep ABF from buying another truck line. What logical reason would they buy them???

Please don't get me wrong, there is nothing more that I want to see is that somebody comes along and takes us and allows us to get back being Holland. I just wish that sometimes we took the time and checked the facts before we spoke of things that we are not quite sure of.

What makes the Holland guys think it will be any better at ABF? They have guys on layoff there also.

because if abf bought holland we would go back to 100% pay for one thing, which would make me very happy!!!

I have not heard anything but I can not imagine YRC will keep USF. USF is a great carrier but since they did not include USF in the YRC merger I believe that they plan on getting ride of this component in one way or another.

I think this is the post kitkat is referring too? If you read what she says, it sounds like this is only hearsay for now, no official announcement.

now I just heard that ABF bought us for 800million! Oh I hope its true!! This is from a driver whose brother works for ABF out east....supposedly his terminal manager made the announcement!

Keep an eye on Glen Moore and YRC logistics. I believe that's where ABF's interest is.

i would have to agree ... its kinda like a little light or a little twinkle of hope that holland employees want to get away the grips of the almighty yellow dog .. I hope it works out for my teamsters bros. and sisters :shift:

My sources say that ABF is not interested in Holland or New Penn. They also state that they are looking at a logistics firm. No names had been mentioned.

Our president sent a letter saying we are NOT buying USF. But he did say ABF was interested in buying a logistics or supply chain company. Whatever the hell they are! So that probably means they ARE interested in USF. He stated that there would be a major announcement sometime this summer. The letter was read at our preshift meetings on the dock last week.

It's abf not yrc,I've been on both sides of the fence. The difference is there's no Bill Zollars at abf.If they do buy, holland & reddaway will be like it once was pre---yrc. Operating in high 80's,low 90's give it a little time. Another differance is abf has the money. bill has to borrow money to buy apair of shoes..

you hit the nail on the head.

supply chain

A supply chain is a warehousing and repackaging facility. UPS has had great success with supply chain warehouses. You get the best of both worlds, you own the warehouse plus you get most of the freight coming in and out of the facility. I can see ABF being interested in something like this. If it`s good for UPS its good for ABF............like trying to buy out of the pension plan.

Why would any of us at Holland want ABF to buy us. At least where we are at we are operating as a seperate company. If ABF buys us what makes anyone think that they would not combine us and then we would have to dovetail? Not a good situation for anyone involved, except for ABF to take over Holland's freight and junk equipment.
