XPO | Should i send this to John L.

The only problem with this poster is that he is also trying to get the union going in his center. I run to an FAC with some of his co-workers and a couple of them have told me that this driver has met with union guys already. Dont get those idiots involved in conway business. Thats the fastest way to NOT get John L or some of the other honchos to take him seriously.

OH you are way off base on this one but nice try.If i was trying to that i really don't think i would of sent a letter to John L. the problem is,is that no has a set or is just scared.Which is it?I don't know why anyone would be scared they are humans just like you and i.But you just need to be professional about.
 
great letter, its the same things we.ve been talking at our terminal a lot of us have twenty plus yrs. and there is no way we can retire now, especially the west coast . I would be willing to sign that letter if you want just let me know.....I really don't think it will do any good but it is worth a try.....you aslso might want to add that other co. s including emery they bought out the pensions for older drivers and clerks......I.B.M. P.G.E just to name a few.......I'm currently talking to a lawyer about a class action lawsuit for age discrimination, but as of yet I haven't heard back........good luck....let me know what happens....
 
Alright everyone here's an update sorry it has taken me so long to get back to everyone but it's been one of those weeks.Busy, busy ,busy, but here goes i was called into the office on Wedensday morning with my TM and PS i was told that the letter seemed to them that i was trying to organize the company and i told them how do you get that out of the letter that i wrote.And i was told since i was using the word's like "WE"and "US" in the letter it seems that i'm speaking on behalf of everyone and i said yes i was but my TM said that i'm not because he has had some drivers come to him and tell him that i don't speak for them they speak for there self.That's when i told him that everything in that letter has come out of each and every employee's mouth that i have talked to.It's just that i'm the type of person that will speak my mind as professional as i can.Now i read this letter to my TM and PS on Monday and they told me to send it on and then they come back to me with this crap but that's ok i just hope everyone else does the same thing i'm not trying to make anyone in management mad i just think we deserve some answers.
 
Your letter had some valid points. Unfortunately when someone expresses themselves as you did that makes you a target. Hope things go well for you.
 
My thing is how should it make me a target. Which i hope it does because i still have a few things to write on behalf of everyone at Con-way.And like i said before i'm a very strong person and i believe that something good will come out of this.

Talk about jumping to conclussions. Now, we will have a new memo stating anytime the terms "We" or "Us" are used it may be determined you are organizing. Glad mangement has this kind of time on there hands to come up with this crap.
Don't worry about it P&D driver they would be really stupid if they came after you.....It would be a real "payday" for you if they did.
Just come in everyday do your absolute best! Pray to God and try and start earning cash on the side.

P&D , I have opened many cans of worms in my 20 years here at Con-Way. In some cases I had to mention the U.S. Constitution to my SCM and also XGO to get them to back off.
In these cases I became a target . BUT WHAT THE HECK!!!
It keeps things from being boring and expressing my opinion also helps keep my blood pressure down.
The main thing P&D Driver is this. ( Watch your back , Go by the book , I mean do everything by the book. Paperwork ,Pre-Trips everything.) This is how I have managed to keep my job thru the years. One time I had a SCM shooting at me for over 8 years because I wouldn't kiss his $ss. I filed charges on him different times for everything from harassment , defamation of character and discrimination. BUT he could not ever find one thing to write ME up over. Eventually he hung himself.
Just make sure you say everything in a tactful manner and no matter what they say to you , KEEP YOUR COOL.
I am FAR from knowing everything. I just wanted to tell you how I have been able to voice MY opinions in the past as well as present and keep my job.

does your tm, and ps know what the definition of is, is? (Sorry a little clinton humor there) And while I`m sure they were told to say that, they need to know every employee here is concerned about their pay & bennys. ( yes even your tm and mine and every other tm in the land.) The only people not concerned get what`s called a golden parachute. So be careful my friend, and do things by the book, because that bullseye got bigger.

Yeah i told them what they did not want to hear but i was NICE about it.I know that i'm going to have to dot all my i's and cross all my t's but i always do that any way.I give them 100% everyday and i would not hope that the company that we work for would not try and find something on me because that should show everyone what kind of people we work for.I myself don't think they will because i would really hope that they look at the letter that i sent on behalf of everyone and say WOW we really need to do something.But if they don't i can't say that i did not try and life will go on for me.WITH OR WITHOUT CONWAY.

If your letters are negative, demeaning and filled with idle threats of that EFCA meaning, than I'll agree, you just targeted yourself.
It's awfully hard to do everything and I mean little everything by the book, day in and day out when they have the microscope on you. I've seen that target placed on drivers many many times.
Just make sure your letter is as professional as you can make it.

Thanks dock, i think it was as professional as i could be. Everyone should of read the letter by my post i only changed a few things(spelling,puncution,spaces between paragraphs,and just a few tweaks here and there)but other then that.That is what was sent.And it's going to have to be a big target because i'm a very big boy LOL.
 
Well another week has past and i still have not heard a thing.I keep asking my TM if he has heard anything and still nothing.I will give them till next week and then i will resend it.I think it is the least they could do. PLEASE RESOND....... to the emails they have received. Don't everyone agree?

Did you send it "To Whom it May Concern"..?? Did you e-mail it, or US mail it..??
There is a great deal going on at the moment (sorry, can't give details now) and there is a myriad of things happening..Could be that IF he got this, he hasn't had time to respond just yet...And IF and when he does, I am sure he will address each of your concerns, because that's the kind of person he is... Just have to understand that he isn't sitting behind his desk (he is lousy at that anyway) waiting on this letter...So, have patience..
