i heard you guys took a pay cut recently. well turns out that at least one terminal in the los angeles area has found a way to spend those savings. a weekend get away for management to knott's berry farm. no it's not all for fun. part of that will be to teach supervisors how to discourage their employees from wanting to go (Mod cut Violation rule #8)

anyway it's quite impressive that they chose knott's berry farm. the way those clowns run the show you'd think they choose the circus :biglaugh:

I will pop in from time to time, especially when I see a completely false and inaccurate statement being made about the company...
The "Sunday" conference (not weekend) was held at the Radisson hotel adjacent to Knotts, because it has a conference room large enough and central enough to host 2 regions, so we weren't paying for 2 different venues...I am sure all the managers and FOS' who gave up their Sundays for this "fun" regret that they don't get to do it every week...
The meetings are specific to changes in HR policies as they become completely unified, as well as new state laws on the books in Ca. as I am sure there are in other states too..
Get your facts straight before putting the spoon in the pot to stir..

Yeap, we got one of those paycuts. So who is it you work for,you did say "you guys".Our SCM is allgedly in Portland Oregon. It wouldn't be the first time one truck driver give another bad info though.

Meeting....

I will have to go with Boxboss on this one. A couple of years ago we had a W&I meeting at the same hotel. Did get to see Knotsberry Farm as we drove by on the way to the hotel from the airport and again on the way back out of town. I didn't get inside the gates at the park.

Con-Way has a long standing deal with that hotel.

So, was it the "U" talk in your neck of the woods that brought you out of the closet? Or did you really want to set the record straight? :Poke:

It probably was the U word that got his attention. (where is Elvis?) And this is the kind of conversation that we need to be having here. It takes all points of view to keep this thing going. It's a system of "checks and balances"....I will respect the Mods AND I will also respect statements made by BoxBoss and any other member of management. Come on, let's get this thing back on track.

well then i suppose i may have been misinformed. i know some heads over at conway and this is what some of those people told me. anyway i don't think i violated any rules on here. i'm not talking pro-union on here. i just pointed out what the meeting was about.

Our region has the meeting this coming Sunday (5/17). One day only, and trust me, no one is looking forward to a fun filled day. Just what everyone wants to do, drive 75-150 miles to be at a meeting by 8 or 9 a.m. on a Sunday morning. Whee!

Second post and already spreading misinformation and "U" crap. Nice.

I stand by my original statement...none of the guys out here are even talking about the U, at least not seriously...what we are talking about out here (mgmt and drivers) is getting back to where we were...The original statement was completely inaccurate and false, and "implied" that company management was going on weekend retreats at amusement parks on employees backs...That was a bunch of bull$hit...That's all I have to say...

i assure you that when it comes to the union there is no crap involved. if you want to keep believing what management is telling you then i feel sorry for you. proud to be a teamster

Understand about the clarification. What does this comment mean?

what we are talking about out here (mgmt and drivers) is getting back to where we were.

Do you mean pay benefits etc.?

The original statement was completely inaccurate and false, and "implied" that company management was going on weekend retreats at amusement parks on employees backs...are you saying that you dont need to go to amusement parks to ride on employees backs????
