Yellow | YRC to Apply for Bailout Funds

After all their infamous and perverted representatives in WDC have finally drained the sacred cow dry to the bone.
Hyper inflation here we go....
Back to Carter days and 21% mortgage interest rates.

(Watch the cow cracks please:)

Hmmm, I wonder if he said this when Fed Ex grabbed millions in post 9/11 airline money, even though they didn't suffer any loss. If you look at their numbers now, the money the government gave them is what represents their economic condition being so much better now.

Jimmy G, you hit the nail on the head so hard I think I felt it here in MO. All I can say, is you have got to be friggin kidding me. They are going to use the excuse that they are paying into a pension system that pays employees that never worked for them as a reason to get bailout money.?...This is just absurd. How about the fact that they haven't been profitable in God knows how long now. Another loss of 415mil. in just the first quarter of this year alone. I think we've seen what happens when you throw money at a sinking ship (see GM and Chrysler). Its time to stop the madness. I'm sad having to say this, because I've gotten to know and enjoy several YRC drivers in the past few years, but either they pull themselves out of this mess, or down with them. I would say the same thing if FedEx were in this mess.......who knows we could be soon. There is no justification of wasting taxpayer money on private businesses. Period. I wish you all at YRC nothing but the best, but stay out of my pockets.:ranting2:

fedexman...

you said it fedexman , stay out of our pockets your co created there own mess , let them get themselves out of it , and i'm sure the YRC new what they had for pension obligations before they made the decision to merge , don't hurt the retired folks too many are eating cat food now and it is creating a shortage for my cat
fedexman...stay out 'my' front yard!!! I use UPS!!! :eck13: :shift:

I thought Obama gave GM money to stay afloat which is manufactoring. And why are these big companies sending work overseas? To fatten their pockets not because they had to to stay afloat. They still getting paid and we arent.

well I sure hope that if we get any kind of support from the government that it is under the stipulation that Bill Zollars resigns. If not I don"t care if the ship sinks because even if we get money it will be prolonging our date with destiny as long as that assshole is incharge.

I want Zollars gone...and I like your avitar.

Maybe,Obama will replace dollar bill just like G M president:clap:
I am a die hard Cleveland Browns fan.

Zollars played football at the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers.

I am an Ohio State Buckeye fan...so I dislike dollar bill even more.

Hear me Bill?...Gopher this....get out and do not come back!!:Flame-On:

Thats true.what needs to be done is one or more of these money stealing execs to go to jail.Heard the execs from chrysler asking for their bonous now that Fiat bought them out. They say since the bail out money was for chrysler not Fiat they should get it.Only thing they should get is weekly visits and one phone call a week.In general lockup not min security golf course

Amen Brother

God is testing me to see if I am worthy of His Love .

Zollars - Hoffa - Obama - All bad . Will one save the other to yet forsake the other ???????? And who will play which role in this sadistic ritual ????
Ultimately we all pay . Either as workers , union members or as taxpayers , but rest assured , we will pay .Which role shall we play ?????
What will cost us the least now for big $$$ later ? The government is broke too. When will that marker be collected ??Our children ?? Their children's children ?? Which generation of Americans will finally have had enough ??:

Social Security will run out in 2038

Social Security will become insolvent in 2042. This report says.

I tell you on Monday ( May 11, 2009) the report was 2038, (4 years less).

This has not been updated.

This is sad, America, no one wants to fix it because...who cares?

II. OVERVIEW

Strategic Planning for Multi Employer Pension Withdrawl

Zollars spoke about the Multi Employer Pension withdraw back in December 2008.

YRC seeking more cost cuts

YRC Worldwide Inc., the largest U.S. trucker with Roadway operations based in Akron, said Thursday it will seek out more cost reductions after reaching a tentative agreement with the Teamsters union for a 10 percent wage cut.

''YRC under President-elect Barack Obama's administration will push to allow the multi-employer pension plan it participates in to stop supporting retirees from companies that have gone out of business,'' chief executive officer Bill Zollars said.

''There are going to continue to be efforts to create as much cushion for this economic downturn as possible,'' Zollars said. ''We're still working on some plans to share the pain across the entire company.''

Yet one more opportunity for government to encroach further into private business. Isn't this nice?... our children, and their children and their children will have the pleasure of paying the cost of propping up another company that wasn't smart enough to remain financially healthy. Hell, why not just give every American a million dollars and bill it to our grandkids.

If Dollar Bill wants money, put him on the stand like the Big 3 and let them ask him if he'd work for $1. What if we got one of those petitions that we see online and send it to the Secretary of Trans and Obama stating the little guys are giving back, let him work for $1 and give up his golden parachute. Ill be happy to put my name in the No1 spot!

Why do people act surprised that YRC is applying for bail out money? It is a unionized company. Unionism is Socialism. Every socialist in the world is applying to the U.S. for a bail out. This is not rocket science.

Socialism Sux!!!

Is it not better to spend money on our own then to give 100 Billion to help rebuild Iraq? But if 40,000 freight people lose their jobs i can be called back to work. Or like they say i sure hope for the best for you guys at Y R C.:biglaugh:

.

If your theory is true, it's the same problem as the Automakers--- dumping the "Legacys"; or Orphans, from the Pension Plan. In my Opinion, YRC's main problem is, Obama's completely killing capitalism and manufacturing in this nation. Which then lays people off and then they can't/ won't buy anything. So more manufacturing closes. Which is Freight. No Freight; No Freight-Hauling Jobs......Trickle-Down works every time, and this new Administration does exactly the Opposite of every economic truism to save jobs there ever was; except more government jobs, caring for the laid off.....

So the corporate outsourcing of American jobs for the last 25 years has nothing to do with anything does it? Obama, in office less than 6 months has done more damage to the American economy than the last 3 administrations?

I knew the right is bitter, but it makes me laugh how quickly they forget everything before November 2008, but remember every detail from 1993 until 2001 and the last 5 months.

You would rather thousands upon thousands lose their jobs so the right's ideology can be upheld.

No wonder the repubs are in such trouble and disarray.

The "repubs" are in trouble because they quit being Conservatives a couple decades ago.

If YRC gets bailout money, this will only be the beginning of every company out there that's in trouble putting its hand out, looking for 'free' money.

Remember, every trillion dollars the fed spends is another trillion dollars that needs to come out of our wallets.

I'm scared...!

He's not going to fly into Washington on his private jet.

He's going to drive to washington in one of those great

Sterlings that we get to drive every day. That should really

impress the Senate
