Next to a burning cross, the confederate flag is THE symbol of racisim to blacks. You can say it stands for whatever you want, but to many, many Americans, it stands for racisim just like the swastika stands for attempted genocide.

As far as the double standard of a Malcom X tee shirt and a confederate flag, you're right. But that's the way it is until we all stop acting like the victims.

Just offering the facts.

Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpten are two of the most ⓇⒶⒸⒾⓈⓉ men in the spotlight. They do a disservice to the black community.

I don't agree with the double standard either. It works with the sexes too. All a woman has to do is cry harassment, and your career is over. All a woman has to do is say the word **** and your life is over.

It's all a case of the pendulum swinging to far in one direction. It will correct itself in time.

If you can prove that someone of color or the special sex is getting treatment not afforded you, take FX to court. Better make sure you can prove it though.

I can say that here, at this SC, no one but brown nosers are given special treatment. We all are considered second class and are treated as such.

Don't worry about the diversity thing. It's all PR and means nothing. FedEx does not care where you're from or what your culture "brings to the table". You're still just meat. It's a means to provide lawyers with ammo in case of a discrimination lawsuit. "See here! Look at how much we talk about diversity! Look at our pictures of people of color and women! Look! They're holding each other's thumbs!"

Thank u! Well put and enough said!...because I'm a black male and at my terminal there have been 2 office wrkrs..one asian and black woman...5 road drivers...black, white, and hispanic and a few city drivers. They've been trying to get on that diversity council for awhile now and none have been chosen so what does that tell u. It's like a lottery but sometimes it doesn't look that way. I mean I can't speak for how u feel but don't let it get to u. As far as I'm concerned there seems to be more red shirts on the council than anything in my eyes....so to me it's pre-picked from the beginning.

Who needs a diversity council ...... I don't care how tall and skinny, or short and fat, or what color you are ....I either like you ...or I don't ..... and someone telling me how political I need to be ...won't change a thing .

:clap: Very good man,the only color I care about is green-aka-money,Iam not here for the love,but for the money.Iam the only black at my terminal,So what?diversity council dont pay my bills,never needed it in the past,whats next? Opps I forgot Iam a far right because Iam a Navy Vet,its a cool idea,I know great men in the past die,for our freedoms.We dont have to worrie but being shot, for talking about how we feel about things,to many Wimps,Cry baby's,girly men,
 
i would just like to add that there is no such thing as reverse racism or reverse descrimination. racism is racism and descrimination is descrimination.it sounds stupid to make that point but if we are all to be equals it makes more sense to just call it racism or descrimination.

White males are an easy target,politically speaking that is.It might not be right, but thats the way it is in these current times.
 
All you have to do is call any freight phone number and get put on hold to see there is discrimination at Fed Ex Freight....When you here the Diversity speal...

Maybe thats not an exact qoute but it's pretty close....if thats not discrimination...What is...

What does That mean....?...... that if a majority of the receivers in ABC Town have White names (what is a White Name) that we are going to have an White CD/SA.....

or If the majority of receivers are Hispanic/Latino....there must be a same CD/SA...????

What if the receivers are Black/Hispanics...???

And How do they determine...the make-up of the customer base...is sales taking a survey....?...or is it going to be tied to the 2010 census...?...or does it go by the receivers name on the delivery receipt..??

PLEASE DONT GET ME STARTED.....

DIVERSITY....is nothing but a CROCK OF ::shit::.....

And going back to the Title of this thread...... There surely is DISCRIMINATION at Fed Ex...and that's only 1 example........
 
Fedex just like every other big company is afraid of any minorities. The blacks and the women working there cant and wont get in trouble for almost anything except the attendance policy. They cant put one white male on the front of the handbook because that will offend some black guy working there. It would be nice if I a white male could get away with half the stuff they do. Oh well I guess I am the real monority there.
 
Who care about the race or gender of the employees...Look at the people who are on the board of directors...Take one look at all of them and you will see one thing they have in common...No diversity.
 
No diversity on the board is common at any major company. Fedexes diversity program is a crock of sh#$. Fedex is afraid of minorities thats why they do not get called in the office to be talked to. Oh no cant have a corrective action against a minority or we will get in trouble.
 
I read an article in the news paper if you can believe i know how to read.anyway it was an article about a boston fire company where white males won a law suite for discriminaion against them because they were passed over by minoritues for promotions.the article also stated that in the tests the minorities didnt even pass them and weren't qualified to take the positions that they were given.the aticle also stated this is gonna have an effect on the entire country on discrimination cases.JUST THOUGHT I WAS INTERESTING READIG

hmmmm ....

I read the same article , seems you got most of it correct ..except the test got thrown out because minorities that tested did not scored high enough to fill the jobs ... no one was hired ..
