I was just wondering if there is any new news concerning the fact that many members will be losing ther insurance, not to mention that some members already lost their bennies awhile ago. From what i have heard if you work 1 day in a quarter, you are not allowed to take advantage of the gov'ts 65% reduction. THATS BULL@#$%. Why hasn't our international stepped in to help correct this problem. If theres anyone who can shed some light on this it would greatly be appreciated.. thanx JPW

The Teamsters help?

The Teamsters aren't going to help because they are nothing but a bunch of little girls without any kahoonas. When are we going to do something about this before it's too late? How much bull ::shit:: are we going to put up with? YRCW wants to break the union. They will get sympathy from Joe Public because most people hate unions and think that we are paid too much the way it is. They are trying to make a point at our expense. This is absolutely nuts!!!

Brother, the international does not care about the freight members anymore nor will they make the company pay the money to the pension funds......Look at your Teamster magazine you just received in the mail recently and there is no mention of the freight members......All they are doing now is organizing the Bus departments........We are a thorn in their sides because we are now the minority.......nuff said......:ranting2::ranting2::TR10driving03:

Now let me make it loud and clear.....the locals care about us but the international does not because they will now get lots more in the unions because of the free choice act....Local 728 do care for their members......and i am sure many locals do as well........Hoffa hates the freight division......nuff said.......:TR10driving03::TR10driving03::TR10driving03:

I lose my Health on 5/31 I was laid off on 3/20 -- about 60 days of Insurance.

Now I know your saying NO YOU GET 90 DAYS--

Well let me tell you this story------- Since I did ony worked 3 weeks in March, I am not allowed to receive those 30 days unless I wish to pay up the missing weeks AT THE RATE THE COMPANY PAYS!!

Now listen to this - YRC only paid for 2 weeks in March not the 3 they should have , so I have to pay over $500 for the 2weeks to receive the 30 days. IT GETS BETTER ----

I can buy a FULL MONTH of H&W for $338.80 with the Obama plan. I asked if I could use the Obama plan to pay the 2 weeks.... They said NO... I can carry those 2 weeks for the next year just incase YRC decides that want to re-employ me.

GGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR I'm buying more bullets with my next unemployment check !

But when YRC pays for the missing week, you can get a refund on the week you paid. We did...and it came quickly. And it's true....to qualify for the Obama Cobra plan, you can't work any hours at all, unless it's for a company that has no insurance available for you. What was that we heard for the last 4 years....YES WE CAN...they just left out the rest 'yes we can screw you too'. They want people to live on unemployment, even though all the states are running out of money to pay unemployment. It's like welfare, they don't want to give you a little help...they want you totally dependent on them.:nutkick::nutkick:

If you take on a new job and there is a lapse in coverage for more than 60 days then no preexisting coverage for a year. That is the policy at the new job I got.

Yeah, that's the other catch-22......60 days of no coverage equals no pre-existing condition coverage at any other company. They know how to kick people when they're down, don't they?:nutkick::nutkick::duh:

Now that's a good line...I may hafta borrow it!

This is true you are not allowed to work one day or even one hr (the Union calls it Zero hrs.) Now my wife went to a dr whose receptionist is paying the cobra and taking the discount her husband is a teacher and he is substituting for another district and takes the discount even though he is working under the zero hours policy. I myself cannot take the discount the Union's attorney said that YRC reported that I worked some days in 2008 and some in 2009 which I don't understand because Unemployment demands you don't refuse work I may have worked but I didn't have enough hours accumulated to receive benefits. Yrc paid the union on my behalf because it shows the money coming out of my paycheck. I don't know if this the Union's rule or the Goverment regulation I guess they think we were better off not working instead we should be drinking beer, hugging our shotguns and praying to the Almighty Obama. This makes no sense but I have to pay $904.00 by the first of every month or we are cancelled. The good thing is I have been working steady even though on layoff list and I have accumulated the Hours to have benefits paid for the next quarter. The best way to find out who made this stipulation up maybe your senator or congressman would know. I feel for you $904.00 is a lot to pay when on unemployment. Hope you can get some answers.
