Yellow | Im voting yes!!! And why does estes pick up our freight?

2 things here, first I am voting yes, as if Yrc shuts down there defin wont be any pension for anyone, including all the people that are collecting it now, also I dont know how the other union carrier would be able to handle the load which means they could end up in trouble


the other thing is when I go to do pickups some customers ask me why when they call in a pick up to Logistics Estes comes and picks up? Why are our customers call in yrc for a pickup and then a non union carrier is picking it up? A few customers have told me this, plus I was there one time when the customer got off the phone confused and said to me you have to take one skid and then the other customer service at yrc told me Estes was doing the other pickup


Whats up with that?

remember, little by little Estes is buying this company, one terminal at time, it's only a matter of time before they start taking the freight too.....

Our stock is pretty cheap right now...they could buy it up. I'm just sayin' :duh::flame:

1- Wheather you vote yes or no will make no difference to the pension or retirees. yrc is not making anymore contributions and hasn't since what, March. So any pension fund will make adjustments if need be when they think necessary. Some will say its only a deferment for 14 monthes but its defered forever, wait and see.Vote yes and line the exectutives pockets. 2- The logistics company has no loyalty to yrc. Their job is to find the best and cheapest way to move the shippers freight. Guess Testes is the better carrier. Yup, everyone vote yes to keep the competitors working!
 
This is why I keep telling you we will have an announcement we were bought out by Estes. It will probably occur in about 1 year if we give the pension deferral. sooner if we don't.

I project voting Yes will cause them to keep YRC, but make us white paper w/no pension. Estes will be under the same white paper.

I project voting No will cause them to shutdown YRC and hire like mad at Estes to pickup the slack. Many of us will lose our jobs under this scenario.
 
Turbo J , you are correct that logistics has no loyalty to yrc. i have picked up freight recently that was on yrc logistics header. hope you guys make it. i have met a lot of you in the last eighteen years, and you have always been a profesional group of drivers

Please. Buying up our terminals doesn't mean they are buying the company and getting our freight. Why do so many of you think that estes can just "claim" our freight if/when we go down? It's up to the shipper who gets their freight. It's not up to Estes, YRC, or any other carrier. The customer decides who gets their goods.......period. Even if Estes bought YRC tomorrow current YRC customers could go else where. Use your head and stop with the conspiracy crap.

As far as no one would buy this company because of the debt.....probably so, but there are asset only aquisitions.

The pensions will paid out by PBGC which is better than hoping the plan survives.Penn Traffic(Big Bear) paid theirs out that way. YRC will die. You guys who try to deny it should hit the rewind button to 2002. CF denied their demise right up to the end. The same will happen to YRC. Based on how they treat some of their people good ridance. Roadway was the best job many of us ever had or will have, but Agent Smith said it best. "Everything that has a beginning, has an end" ..........Goodbye, YRC.....

The only one who wants a yes vote is yrc

If you vote yes we will be making less money than non union employees who at least have a 401 k and we still pay dues.if we keep giving there will be no need for the union.the only reason i'm still here with 18 years is because of the pension.if anyone honestly believes there gonna pay us back 500 million later your seriously nuts.all were doing is funding there golden parachute.i say no.

If all this is true your yes vote will be meaningless. You won't have a job anyway

And i dont know anyone who has a 401k fund making money right now,so people wake up our pensions rely on the markets,401ks rely on the market.this mess is because of the economy,nobody is happy right now,no matter where you work.everybody is giving back.
