Yellow | Non union to loose vacation

It's sad to see the hate in some of the posts on this site just because someone is union or nonunion... Everyone is hurting and it's terrible for anyone to lose their job in this economy regardless of whether they belong to the union or not...

Non union employees have lost all pension payments, not deferred but lost... The 10% wage cuts have been made indefinite... Yearly merit raises have been indefinitely suspended... Bonuses have been eliminated... They work a mandatory 50 hour work week and of course that's without any overtime consideration.. Of course they also pay a portion of their health insurance premiums which for family coverage can be considerable...

The top executives whether with YRC or with the Teamsters will not be the ones who suffers, it's the regular employees whether union or nonunion... It's time for the indivduals to realize the hate they show in their posts only show what a low class individual they have become.. Everyone is suffering, both union and nonunion...

If you have interpreted my post as hate , then your mistaken . My post is about equality . Equal give backs for equal lengths of time . And thats from everybody that collects a pay check from YRC , including Dollar Bill , Smid , and all top executives . The language in the last concession wasn't a true shared burden . That's why I voted NO . If the language in the next concession isn't completely equal , all the way from the top down , then I will vote NO again . And to those non-union employee's that are mad because we have the right to vote on the concessions and they don't , sign a card ! You chose to go into management , with no representation , and I chose union for the representation . And that's not meant to be hateful , only factual .

What's going to happen is everyone thinks they will be able to get rid of Zollars by threatening to vote no, but multimillionaire that he is, he won't be the one to suffer one bit if the place closes. He will be the hero of the corporate world that brought down the mighty Teamsters (people aren't too hot on unions right now). And we will have 40,000 or so ex-Teamsters out looking for union jobs that don't exist. And retirees that lose their pensions. We just don't have a choice. We have to at least fight to stay open.

Where do you draw the line ? Do you give back 25 % pay , no pension , no paid sick days or holiday's ? While upper management collects their full pay , benefits , and bonuses , all the while laughing at you because your funding it . How long , if ever , will it take to get back to where we are now ?Financially , if we lose to much more , it will pay better to work at some non-union companies . Although Dollar Bill will fair much , much better than us , if the company fails , he and the other top executives will still take a big loss in the stock portion of their compensation and maybe bonuses too . It's harder to replace a $80,000 and up job as opposed to a $40,000 to $80,000 job . Maybe not Dollar Bill and Smid , but if the company fails , alot of upper management will never get back up to their current positions or pay , so they have alot to lose as well . If YRC can't pay their loans now because of the amount of payroll and pensions , then how are they going to pay their loans in 14 to 16 monthes when the pension ( and maybe some payroll ) concessions come back with the cost of the deferments on top of that ? As far as the possible concessions , I think it's less about what Dollar Bill wants or is willing to do and more about what the board and financial backers want and are willing to do .

This is the YRC way. Punish the folks that are trying to get the mess that Zollars and the Board of Directors created. I worked there for 17 years and this is a typical response when Sr. Management screws up.
