Folks, Billy Bob Zollars took us all for a ride.
His game plan all along was to following C.F. game plan sucking the life out of this company to feed the greed of the "stockholders" and himself.
Pay attention to history, as it repeats itself.
C.F. set up CCX (Con-Way) as it's "non union" carrier to compete in that market. Then CCX was made a stand alone company and "sold" off. CCX started to grow while C.F. lost all the good customers and freight.
Does this sounds similar to YRC and SAIA?
Or just to much reading into this? Those of you who were with Yellow back in the 90's might remeber all this....
Your Thoughts?

I 100% agree with you on what you are saying.......Zollars has nothing to lose and will make out with millions and have no more headaches......But how can he live with himself knowing he destroyed the livelyhoods of thousands of dedicated workers....There will be a place in HELL for him........burn and rot you idiot......nuff said......:TR10driving03:

I think that you three are 100% wrong! Unfortunately, next year if the company survives the economy, people will forget all of the crazy predictions and conspiracy theories that you doom and gloomers have been kicking around week after week and listen to you all like you know what you are talking about--sad!

Here comes another Stroud personal attack . . . wait for it . . . wait for it.

Mr "friend" Mr boxlover, for once I do hope you are right, I have alot of friends still working for YRC. I have been doom and gloom, just being realistic. I believe it may be over, but than again who and I.

I hope you know, what you have been coming up with. Your crazy predictions. False hope, can be a b#tch.:puke::eck15:

Now for the personal attack, I am going to tuck in my new rubber girlfriend.:biglaugh:

Response

I hope I am wrong too. I would hate to see what was several great companies fail due to corporate greed. I worked in operations for Yellow back in the 90's. We were told then that the game plan was to go non-union. Or at least reduce the amount of union jobs.
I left Yellow shortly after Zollars took over and never looked back. Too sad to see what he was doing. Yellow was once a great company that had great workers, union and non union workers.

Did you work for CF? I did. From what I have seen this has not followed the CF pattern at all.

the writing is on the wall for closure just look at what they are doing cutbacks layoffs loosing freight because they are under staff and can't make deadlines
i heard this morning they missed around 1600 exact deliverys
that had to meet delivery times
even in our barn freight is coming late for delivery

I think the original paln was to buy up every majpr competitor and price the rest out of business. It all feel apart when the economy tanks last fall and the incompetence of management caught up with them. Now the employees, both union and non-union with pay the price.

It's quite obvious you have NO idea of how the CF shutdown went. They did everything they could to shut them down and took zero measures to help sustain the company because it was a union busting move from the get go. YRC is doing everything they can to stay alive right now. While most don't agree with those actions it's quite clear that they are at least trying to stay in business, but it comes at the expense of us workers.

**In the future please at least act like you know what you are talking about before making such an uninformed post.

that is why they are using yrc logistics so they can get rid of the union drivers and slowly put yellow to bed and pocket millions of dollars:smilies-19296:

I said back when YRC bought Holland that this was nothing more than union busting. As it turns out I was right. YRC is doing everything it can to destroy the NMFA. My only question now is, what could the union and YRC possibly be negotiating starting on June 29? I thought they had an agreement on the pension situation. Now the want to renogiate the contract? What's next another 5% giveback? Maybe we can pay for our healthcare? The only thing that made getting up a 2 am in the morning and freezing my butt off was working towards the pension. Now I get to work another year and a half to two years that I hadn't planned on working. If things are so bad with this company then why won't anyone listen to a post I made about a month ago? I posted that EVERYONE that works for YRC companies should work for $20 per hour. I mean everyone from the top down. I mean the very top. No bonuses, no nothing, $20 per hour. That's what I thought, poor $ Z would absolutly die without his 5 million per year. Just how much more can we give?

Slap In The Face!

It's a real slap in the face to the guys who bounced around from one carrier to another just to hang on to the pension benefit! How about the guys at our barn who are in their late 50's and got laid off from ANR, Preston, CF, APA, KNR, Alvan, etc...then had to start over at a lower wage scale for 2 years even though they had over 25 years experience?! How about starting out as a 10%, being on call again?! How about working some crummy flex work week night shift bid just to hang on for the pension?! NOW come to find out that towards the end of your career hanging on for the pension, it just might get ripped out from under you anyway?! Dollar Bill should be held personally responsible for the economic havoc he has caused these employees to suffer, and he should be ashamed at running the two largest LTL carriers in the world into the ground! Dollar Bill must go ASAP!:ranting2:
