Ours is Sun. 8:00am, I think they are hoping for a low turnout, last one didn't go so well.

Over 115 at our meeting in Atlanta.....very detailed information by Southern Freight Director, Ken Bryant.

ALL questions were answered when asked, with very detailed answers....as he said, you would be stupid to vote no on this....I have to say the same after ALL the information we heard and the results of what could happen if it was voted down.

Like was said by one of our members who spoke......"It is a ::shit:: sandwich..you just have to decide if you want ketchup or mustard on it...KK

Not surprised he would equate being stupid with voting no, that's his opinion, he can shove his opinion up his Fat***!

What words of infinite wisdom did this Wizened Union Sage bring you to solidify your "yes on getting reamed again" vote?

Just curious......where's Stroud at? Jdawgett is muscling in on his gig, or is he on vacation? :order:

I would say that Jdawgett doesn't quite have the finesse of Stroud. :biglaugh:

To his credit, Stroud can take it whereas Jdawgett can't!

Meetings? What meetings?
Lets see.
Local 229 which we just left as of Friday (because we closed Stroudsburg, and moved to Dorrance)
They didn't care enough to even talk to us as we closed.
Then we now belong to the Wilkes-Barre PA local.
Again they haven't contacted us helped us set up the new Terminal, establish work rules.
SO Meetings!
No one around here cares.

Local 299 Meeting

Well we had our Members Meeting today on this concession and lets just say I'm very disappointed!

First off not many members showed up and then Central States and H&W Michigan Conference were a no show either.

I understand the 5% give back so I asked if anyone from Central States was in attendance so I could ask my question as to how this 18 month termination would or could affect the pension considering the fund is in the critical stage under the Pension Protection Act passed a few years ago. (Q: could this be the straw that breaks the camels back?).

My next question was how this 20% / 40% concession with our healthcare affect or could affect our current coverage's? All our Local Leaders really (299) could say is the Fund and H&W Michigan Conference are self run and the IBT or the Local has no real control over what the out come would be weather we vote YES or NO. (Bet if this passes we will be getting a love letter from H&W with more co-pays or even worst!)

Not getting a answer on the two most important issues for this give back I would suggest a NO VOTE till we get some answers, I understand it would be hard for CS and or H&W to give us the some hard numbers but I am sure they have looked at them and I'm sure that’s why they were not present.

How are we expected the vote on this if we can't even get some idea as to the out come of OUR pension's, How can we vote to cut our healthcare as we have gotten older and in realty need more converges as our heath grows weaker with ageing? Look around you Brothers & Sister's, Look good, with all the lay-offs we are now left with a much older workforce who will need GOOD heath care not less, and not with more co-pays.

This 15% total cash giveback just hurts us more. How can we Vote on the pension concession not knowing what "IT MIGHT DO" to our retired Teamster members who all ready have it hard.

Why is the IBT not putting ALL the numbers on the table. They seem to want to shove this down our throats and fast without at least giving us some answers!

I'M VOTEING NO!

Tattooed well spoken brother

That's what they want us to do. Vote on something when we don't know the facts. They tell us what they want us to know. Like if we dont vote yes its going to be the end. Oh well im like you my vote is no

What facts are you looking to have answered? Here's the point.......are you really going to trust what they tell you is the real deal? It's up to you....you might know more than they do.
